It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, actually, it’s a Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk, which shouldn’t be flying through the air. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk may have hawk in its name, but it’s not supposed to fly.

One family woke up to an insane surprise as a Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk crashed through the upstairs of their home. According to Beacon Journal, the Cherokee Trackhawk hit the second story of a home just before 3 a.m.

The luxury, high-performance SUV hit a pole and launched over a driveway before making its landing. Coincidentally, the home in Akron, Ohio, is located on Hawk avenue. It sounds like the perfect place for a Trackhawk to land.

However, the Trackhawk is meant to stay on the ground, not fly. Luckily, no one in the Jeep or the home was injured during the accident. We’re currently unaware if the Jeep’s driver was under any influences.

How much power does the Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk have?

Remember, when it comes to the Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk, great power comes with great responsibility. It’s powered by a 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine that cranks out 707 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque.

This beast can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds. It comes with track-ready capability with a Launch Control System and Brembo brakes for enhanced stopping power. We’re not sure if the driver who wrecked tried to stop their Jeep.

The standard engine in the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a 3.6-liter V6 option with 293 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the 5.7-liter V8 engine for 357 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. So, going to the Trackhawk gives you an extra 350 ponies.

That’s probably why the Trackhawk has a significant price increase. The 2022 Grand Cherokee starts at about $38,325, while the 2021 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk begins at around $90,000. So the driver of the flying Trackhawk may face some significant bills.

The Trackhawk isn’t just meant for racing. It can tow up to 7,200 lbs and has a Quadra-Trac Active On-Demand 4×4 system. It includes five driving modes for Auto, Sport, Track, Snow, and Tow.

A new Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk could be on the way. But we might not see a new model until 2023. Rumors suggest that the Trackhawk 4xe could arrive. However, the new Hurricane inline-six engine could make an appearance.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe is powered by the 2.0-liter inline-four gasoline engine and two electric motors. It cranks out 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The High Output version of the 3.0-liter straight-six Hurrican engine delivers over 500 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque.

Stellantis isn’t done with high-performance vehicles, even with the push for electrification. The Ram 1500 TRX, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, and upcoming Jeep Gladiator Runcion 392 are still robust racing options.

We’ll keep sniffing out clues about the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Until then, the 2021 model and other used options are available.
