Get your rear in gear. This electric Jeep Wrangler concept accelerates so quickly that you could miss it. The Jeep Magneto 2.0 is busting typical Wrangler stereotypes with unbelievable speed and efficiency.

How fast is the Jeep Magneto 2.0?

Reportedly, the Jeep Magneto 2.0 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about two seconds. Perhaps that’s why 2.0 is in the name. Also, that’s incredibly fast for a Jeep Wrangler! Typically, this off-roader isn’t known for speed.

We’ve seen bumper stickers that say, “Go around. If I was meant to be fast, I wouldn’t be shaped like a brick.” Plus, a meme floating around points out that the Jeep Wrangler is less aerodynamic than a cow.

The Wrangler is often associated with being a gas guzzler too. But the Magneto concept is fully electric. It can almost fly without burning a single drop of fuel. It’s like the Magneto is changing everything we know about the Wrangler as Stallantis pushes for zero-emission EVs.

How much power does the Magneto have?

The Jeep Magneto 2.0 can crank out up to 625 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is equipped with a 6.4-liter V8 engine with 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.0 seconds.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a 17.3-kWh battery and two electric motors to generate 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It can reach 60 mph in about 6.8 seconds.

Last but not least, the gas-powered Wrangler has an optional 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It can make it to 60 mph in about 8.7 seconds and tow up to 3,500 lbs.

So the Magneto is by far the fastest Jeep, but we aren’t sure how much it can tow. It includes a new electric powertrain that calibration is known as electric nitrous oxide that boosts the 0 to 60 time. Plus, the system allows it to maintain peak power for up to 10 seconds.

Also, the Magneto 2.0 offers a unique advantage with a six-speed manual transmission, which is an option that electric vehicles don’t require. Jeep shared that the e-transmission provides the best characteristics of an automatic transmission with the direct-drive manual feeling.

When will we learn more about the Jeep Magneto?

The Jeep Magneto 2.0 is about to appear at the Jeep Easter Safari in Moab, Utah. The event kicks off on April 9 and lasts until April 17. New information about the Magneto concept should emerge during this off-roading Jeep celebration.

Jeep is using this event to gauge customer reactions to multiple concepts. Fans must have liked the Magneto because the 1.0 model was at the last event, with less power. According to CNBC, the Magneto 1.0 could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.8 seconds.

We don’t know anything about the price or range yet. But the regular Wrangler starts at $29,995, and the Jeep Wrangler 4xe begins at about $53,795. However, the 4xe is only available as a four-door model, and the Magneto is a two-door concept.

Stay tuned. We will keep you updated as we learn more clues about the Magento and other Jeep concepts that emerge!
