The 2021 Jeep Trackhawk is the SUV for Parents Who Really Wanted a Sports Car

Sometimes, buying an SUV is the most practical option that there is. When it comes to having a family, you want a vehicle that is going to be comfortable, spacious enough for tablets, toys, and bags, and usually, that means getting something relatively boring. Sure, you’d love to be making your daily drive with some enjoyment, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be dreaming of being behind the wheel of a Porsche 911. Luckily for parents who want the responsibility of an SUV while feeling like they’re driving a bonafide sports car, there is the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Performance to match price

The Jeep Grand Cherokee isn’t the most budget-friendly SUV on the planet, especially compared to some of the brand’s more modest options. So, it isn’t particularly surprising that the Trackhawk version of the vehicle is still more expensive. Sure, a new 2021 model will set you back around $88,000 to buy one brand new, but if you think about it, you get your reliable daily driver, family vehicle, and weekend roadster all in one vehicle, and to some drivers, that is well worth the price.

A leg up for the Jeep Trackhawk

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has performance that could rival even some sports cars, and that’s pretty surprising coming from such a capable SUV. According to Jeep, the Trackhawk’s supercharged 6.2L V8 engine pushes the vehicle from 0 – 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and comes to a comfortable stop with the help of large slotted rotors and six-piston front brake calipers from Brembo. Want an even sportier experience? The Trackhawk also offers a launch control option to experience what the full-throttle really feels like — something that is only common in performance-oriented sports cars.

Comfort, space, and practicality

Of course, having performance and an impressive 0 – 60 mph time doesn’t necessarily mean that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a good family vehicle. But, the rest of what the SUV has to offer does, and lucky for us, it makes us have to nit-pick to find something that is wrong with it. With a firmer suspension, drivers can comfortably navigate through traffic without feeling excessive body roll — so, it doesn’t feel like you’re driving a boat with wheels.

The interior is spacious and comfortable for both the front seats and back seats, and you can enjoy the ride whether you are making a daily commute or going on a long Spring Break road trip all the way to the scenic Florida Keys. As the highest trim level, the Grand Cherokee has to offer, it comes complete with every safety feature present in the lower models, and is just as generous with its towing capacity.

Sometimes finding the right family vehicle that offers space and comfort means compromising on having a fast, enjoyable car. But, with the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk you can really have it all.
