The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe won the Rebelle Rally

The Jeep Wrangler Crushed the Ford Bronco in the Rebelle Rally

Two Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid models entered the race, and they took the top two spots. Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit drove the Wrangler 4xe #129 that came in first. Christine and Emily Benzie drove the 4xe #177 that came in second place.

Not only one Jeep Wrangler but three Wrangler models defeated the Ford Bronco in the Rebelle Rally. Three wrangler models, including the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, dominated the course, causing the Ford Bronco to land in fourth place.

First of all, we want to congratulate all of the ladies who competed in the Rebelle Rally. It doesn’t matter if your team drove a Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco, Honda Ridgeline, etc. Competing in this 1,500-mile desert race is epic.

That’s right. We said, ladies. This event is for women only. Teams of two consist of a navigator and driver to see who can get the closest to checkpoints during the course. Some are marked and much easier to find than others. No modern GPS equipment is allowed. Mapping the event involves the use of a compass and map!

How badly did the Wrangler beat the Bronco?

The Ford Bronco was on the heels of the three Jeep Wrangler models that finished ahead of it. Ford entered a two-door Wildtrak Bronco with the Sasquatch package and a four-door Bronco Badlands into the 4×4 class. Shelby Hall and Penny Dale drove the Bronco that came in fourth.

Jeep also entered a gasoline-powered Wrangler that secured third place and sponsored Team Asdzáá Skoden #160. Shandiina Peters and Racquel Black were members of the first all-Navajo team to compete in the Rally.

Nena Barlow shared that the course was more challenging than ever this year, but the Wrangler 4xe made it easy. Their team torqued up dunes, rock-crawled mountains, and dominated washes with ease and efficiency. They never lacked range or power.

Jeep Vice President Jim Morrison shared that the Jeep Brand has supported the Rebelle Rally since it began six years ago. This year they were excited to showcase the new Wrangler 4xe in the most challenging off-road rally conditions.

The 4xe models won the Bone Stock and Electrified award without a single issue in the Rally. Jeep has won the Rally five out of six times.

How much power does the Wrangler 4xe have?

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a 17 kWh lithium-ion battery and an electric motor. They combine to generate 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. This makes it the second most powerful Wrangler ever. The Rubicon 392 has 470 hp.

You get a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 300 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque with the Ford Bronco. You can upgrade to the 2.7-liter V6 Bronco for 315 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Perhaps a Bronco PHEV will enter the race next year.

We don’t expect the Bronco to take this loss lightly, so we can’t see what next year’s Rally brings to the table. At least the Bronco Sport won the 4×4 crossover class. But the main victory goes to the Wrangler!
