The numbers are in and the 2023 Jeep Wrangler outranks the 2023 Ford Bronco by having a higher resale value.
Yahoo Finance compiled a list of the top 12 SUVs with the highest resale value in 2024, and the Ford Bronco didn’t make it. Perhaps it’s in 13th place, but that wouldn’t make the cutoff.
The Jeep Wrangler landed in sixth place with a score of 86 out of 100. But both of these off-roading SUVs lost to the Toyota 4Runner. The 4Runner is in first place with a score of 90. Also, there is only one Jeep model on the list and no Ford vehicles are included in the top 12.
To determine the SUVs with the best resale values, Yahoo compiled a list based on different reliable sources such as J.D.Power.
An average Wrangler model is expected to depreciate by about 22% after five years of ownership to maintain a resale value of $33,656.
This is if the Wrangler was purchased for about $43,299 when new and is kept in good condition while accruing about 12,000 miles per year. So, this is the best-case scenario since the average American drives 15,000 miles annually.
An average Ford Bronco model is expected to depreciate roughly 35% after five years to maintain a resale value of $30,995. This is based on the purchasing price of $47,440 when new.
The Average Wrangler is expected to last between 200,000 to 250,000 miles. But some examples have surpassed 400,000 miles. It could provide about 16 years of service on the road if you drive an average of 15,000 miles per year.
The average Bronco is expected to reach 200,000 miles, but with proper care, it can probably last a little longer. It may provide about 13 years of service on the road. But it’s still new, they could live longer than expected.
