The Jeep Wrangler Is More Reliable Than the Ford Bronco
We have some information that may shock the off-roading community. The numbers are in, but they aren’t in the Ford Bronco’s favor. While the Ford Bronco is a reputable Jeep Wrangler competitor, it isn’t holding up as well.
The Jeep Wrangler is more reliable than the Ford Bronco
The Ford Bronco has been out since 2021, giving drivers plenty of time to use it for commuting, road trips, and off-road adventures. As a result, people have been able to accrue real mileage on the odometers and report the issues they’ve faced.
This helped J.D.Power provide the 2023 Bronco with an accurate reliability rating. It earned a score of 75 out of 100, which is average. The Jeep Wrangler rings in with a score of 84.
Scores between 70 and 80 are average, while scores between 81 and 90 are above average. So, not only is the Wrangler nine points ahead, but it’s in a higher bracket.
J.D.Power assigns each vehicle with a 100-point score for reliability based on hundreds of thousands of independent and unbiased opinions of verified vehicle owners.
This score measures the defects, malfunctions, and design flaws experienced by owners. Everything from the paint, engine, interior accessories, transmission, and more is considered.
So, based on these rankings, people had more trouble with the Bronco than the Wrangler. Perhaps the solid Dana 44 axle gives the Wrangler a true advantage.
The average Wrangler model is expected to last between 230,000 to 280,000 miles. But there are a few examples that have surpassed 400,000 miles. However, the key to longevity is proper care and regular maintenance.
If you drive an average of 15,000 miles per year then you could get about 19 miles of service on the road with your Wrangler.
It’s still a little early to tell how many miles the average Ford Bronco model will last. But it could make it between an estimated 150,000 to 200,000 miles.
If you drive an average of 15,000 miles per year, your Bronco could provide about 13 years of service on the road. That feels a bit low, but tracks with its current reliability ranking.
