Uh oh, another United States Senator was caught acting poorly. Pennsylvania Senator, John Fetterman, was excessively speeding in his SUV before causing a wreck that sent others to the hospital. Apparently, this isn’t his first speeding ticket, either.

Senator John Fetterman at fault for excessive speeding

Pennsylvania Senator, John Fetterman was excessively speeding in his 2021 Chevrolet Traverse when he rear-ended a  2013 Chevrolet Impala, sending the driver of the Impala, his wife, and himself to the hospital.

He was driving on Interstate 77 in Maryland, where the speed limit is 70 miles per hour. He was traveling at 104 mpg, which is 34 mph over the speed limit. Fetterman was not tested for alcohol or substance abuse and claims he wasn’t driving distracted.

Fetterman, his wife, Gisele, and the 68-year-old woman driving the Impala were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Fetterman was treated for a bruised shoulder and discharged a few hours later.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene due to disabling damage. Hopefully, Fetterman has good insurance to cover the wreckage.

After returning home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, Fetterman posted a video with Gisele acknowledging the incident and tanking well-wishers. He said it wasn’t how they wanted to spend their 16th wedding anniversary.

He went on to share that he is relieved and grateful that there were no serious injuries. He has been driving for 40 years and received a handful of tickets that he has been held accountable for. He knows he needs to drive slower and better and claims he will.

This is the third time since 2016 that Fetteman has been driving 20 mph over the speed limit. In Warren County, he was clocked at going 24 mph over the speed limit, and in Westmore County, he was going 34 mph over.

He pleaded guilty in both cases he pleaded guilty to the charges. He was recently ordered to take a driver’s improvement course.

Rumors claim that other senators are afraid to ride with him in his Chevrolet Traverse after allegedly texting and using FaceTime while driving.

It’s unclear when he will go to court or what punishment he will face due to this accident. Stay tuned for updates.
