This week, the internet has been collectively mourning the loss of television’s favorite dad. Bob Saget died in Orlando, Florida and his Toyota Prius sat waiting for his return at LAX. John Mayer and Jeff Ross decided to pick up the Toyota Prius from the parking lot and return it home so it too could join in the pouring.

At the request of Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, John Mayer and Jeff Ross headed to LAX to retrieve the Toyota Prius, so it didn’t rack up a huge bill. “We’re on the 405 remembering Bob Saget, a king in the comedy world. John and I went to pick up his car from LAX. Where he left it.” The pair were in the Toyota Prius as the video was filmed. You can watch the whole thing on Mayer’s Instagram page.

Inside the Toyota Prius, it is clear he cared for the Toyota sedan as much as he cared for everyone else. The pair joked that the car was “immaculate” and a “junk car,” but it was not a junk car. The Prius looked brand-new as Mayer drove it down the highway.

“I haven’t picked someone up from the airport in 10 years,” Ross joked. The two set off to locate the Toyota Prius in the mass parking lot of LAX to no avail. “We went to four floors.” The Prius was parked at the very front entrance in a funny turn of events. Rockstar parking, the pair joked.

The Toyota Prius was Bob Saget’s “junk” airport car

John Mayer joked that Saget had a fancy Lexus for going to restaurants and a Toyota Prius for going to the airport. As Mayer and Ross attempted to drive the Prius out of the parking lot, the company was apparently unmoved by the gesture. “The parking company was unreceptive to the idea that we were helping out a friend,” Ross joked. “If it were [John] Stamos car, though,” he laughed. Implying that it would have been free under those circumstances.

“I’ve just never known a human being on this Earth who could give that much love, individually and completely, to that many people in a way that made each person feel like he was a main character in their life and they were a main character in his life.”

Mayer brought up the cost of the short-term parking, which was $250. He noted that Ross asked to pay the bill. He commented that he didn’t understand why at first, but now he does. “I just wanna keep it [the receipt] in my wallet. I have my grandfather’s union card from construction, and now ill have the receipt from Bob’s car,” Ross said quietly. “This is the only time in my life I’ve been honored to help a friend out at LAX,” Mayer joked.

Remember the episode of Full House when Bob Saget gifted D.J. a car?

On the episode of Full House that aired March 16, 1993, Bob Saget gifted D.J. a red 1977 Pontiac Firebird. The awful red convertible Firebird was quite the gift for Candace Cameron, his daughter on the show. But as Mayer and Ross talked about old times with Bob Saget, it seems like the kind of thing he would do in real life. Danny Tanner might not have had a Lexus for steak dinner nights and a Toyota Prius for airports, but he probably could have.
