Things might be going too far this time. We know that the Ford Bronco Raptor is here to fight the Jeep Wrangler, and it’s a good rival. However, the Ford Bronco Raptor Jurassic Park concept crosses the line into Jeep Wrangler territory. Bronco models weren’t even in the movie! 

The Ford Bronco Raptor Jurrasic Park concept is stomping in Wrangler territory 

We will admit that the Ford Bronco Raptor Jurassic Park concept looks cool, but it feels a bit wrong. In the film, Bronco models didn’t help people survive dinosaur attacks, but the Jeep Wrangler did. 

Bronco fans posted the Jurrasic Park Raptor renderings in the Bronco6G forum. Most people have reacted with pure joy, saying that they would encounter a t-rex to get their hands on one. Someone even said, “Suck on that, Jeep.”

Another fan suggested that it should be in the new Jurrasic Park movie. But that would go against the film’s classic roots. Jurassic Park-themed Jeep Wrangler models have been popular for decades since the film’s release. 

What vehicles were in Jurrasic Park? 

While the Ford Bronco Raptor wasn’t in Jurrasic Park, the Ford Explorer was. You can see Ford Explorer models giving tours around the park. They were placed on a track and couldn’t exactly escape from dinosaurs. 

But the staff got to go all over the park in 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ Sahara models. The Sahara trim blends off-roading prowess with luxury comfort. People still get excited about seeing these Jeep models today. They’re a classic. 

Jeep Wrangler models were used to rescue Ian Malcome and make an escape from a Tyrannosaurus rex. Hammond also uses one of the Jeeps to pick up Grant, Ellie, and the grandkids from the visitor’s center to drive them to the helicopter pad. 

Skip forward a few years to Jurrasic World, and a few of the 92 Wranglers are found and easily repaired. They are used to drive back to the main area of the park. However, one was shoved into a wall by the Indominus Rex. 

Jurassic World came out in 2015 and carried on the Jeep Wrangler tradition. Now we have to watch the upcoming film, Jurassic World Dominion, to see which vehicles appear. Perhaps a Ford Bronco Raptor will be on the big screen. 

Is the Ford Bronco Raptor better than the Wrangler Rubicon 392? 

If we’re talking about escaping dinosaurs, let’s see which vehicle is better equipped to save the day. The Ford Bronco Raptor at least has bigger fender flairs for defense. It’s equipped with a twin-turbo V6 engine with 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. 

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is equipped with a 6.4-liter V8 engine with 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Raptor is taller and wider than the Rubicon 392, but the Rubicon has a slightly longer wheelbase. 

Also, the Raptor stole from Jeep’s playbook with Dana 44 half shafts and a Dana 50 HD solid axle. Both vehicles have Fox shocks, but they are tuned differently. The Rubicon allows for 13 inches of front and 14-inches of rear-wheel travel, which is much more than the Bronco base model. 

The Bronco Raptor has upgraded electronic differential locks, and the Rubicon 391 has a Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case with a disconnecting sway bar. Both vehicles have reinforced frames so they can take a beating. 

We won’t declare a winner until the Bronco Raptor makes it out into the wild to see how it performs. Until then, the Rubicon 392 might be faster, and Jeep Wranglers have a history of fighting dinosaurs.
