Of all the used vehicles that iSeeCars studied, the Nissan Rogue was the most expensive to buy in one city compared to another. Buy a used Nissan Rogue in Fairbanks, Alaska and you’ll pay $10,738 or a whopping 32.4% more than if you buy that same SUV in San Antonio, Texas. So is it worth it to travel from Alaska to Texas to buy your used SUV? You’d have to do the math to see if it’s worth it for you, but that’s a huge difference.

The vehicle with the smallest difference is the Ram 1500. Alaska remains the most expensive state to buy the Ram 1500 in, with a used Ram truck costing $10,701 or 22% more in Anchorage than in Lafayette, Indiana.

If you’re looking for a used SUV or truck then it might make sense for you to drive to buy it. When you’re looking for the best deal, consider looking outside of your city – maybe way outside of your city – to do that. Even with travel expenses, you could save a pretty big chunk of change.
