Today, Justin Timberlake made a video appearance in his DWI court hearing. In the hearing, the judge considered dropping Timberlake’s case. However, he ultimately suspended the pop star’s driver’s license in New York for the duration of the DWI process, which will continue at least through August 9.

NBC News reported that on June 18, Justin Timberlake dined at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. After, he hopped into his BMW SUV to drive to a friend’s house. It was after midnight. Local police pulled him over and suspected him of driving while intoxicated.

Officer Michael Arkinson wrote in his report of the encounter that “the defendant was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition in that his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

He also wrote that Justin Timberlake had trouble walking heel-to-toe or standing on one foot.

According to Arkinson, Timberlake told the officer, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.” Timberlake refused any impairment testing beyond the field sobriety tests.

NBC News says Timberlake pleaded not guilty, and his attorney insisted that the celebrity was not under the influence during the June 18 traffic stop.

The court hearing today lasted about 30 minutes before Justin Timberlake’s license was suspended in New York. The next conference was scheduled for August 9, and another hearing was scheduled for September 13. Depending on what happens at the August 9 conference, the September hearing might not occur.
