K-Pop Boy Band BTS Promotes the Hyundai IONIQ in This Wild Music Video
If you aren’t already familiar with the Korean pop band BTS, get ready. Thanks to a partnership with Hyundai to promote the new IONIQ EV brand, we get an all-new BTS music video, “IONIQ: I’m on it.” In the music video below we get to see each of the BTS band members. They sing a song with a theme that aligns with the Hyundai Ioniq EV. Lyrics speak of charging up when you get low on energy with an interesting blend of both English and Korean lyrics.

How many BTS band members are there?
According to the BTS Wikipedia page, the K-pop boy band BTS has seven members. The members of BTS are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Much of what BTS puts out in their albums and music videos is co-produced or co-written with members of the K-pop boy band.

According to Wikipedia, J-Hope says the name also symbolizes the group’s aspiration “to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets.” Also, the band revealed a new brand identity in 2017, explaining that the name also means “Beyond The Scene.”
When does the Hyundai IONIQ come out?
The Hyundai Ioniq brand wants to be beyond the scene. So it’s no surprise that Hyundai paired up with the Korean boy band BTS to promote the EV branding. The 2021 Hyundai Ioniq is a compact car that’s been in production since 2017.
However, the Korean car company emerges with an all-new EV brand that takes on the Ioniq name. Thus the partnership with Korean pop band BTS. The music video is for the song called “IONIQ I’m on it” and it promotes the new Hyundai brand. From what we can see in the BTS and Hyundai music video, the brand will feature state-of-the-art ambient lighting and other modern features.

Each being a national icon, the joining of these two entities makes sense. They are both Korean with a global presence. The aesthetics of the BTS music video “IONIQ: I’m on it” portray a wide scope of scenes from colorful and delicate to rustic sandscapes with an indoor-outdoor home. It paints the picture of a futuristic fantasy, which makes sense considering the push to release a completely electric brand. Clearly Hyundai’s corporate eyes fixate on the horizon of what’s to come.
