KBB Says These Cars Make the Best Father’s Day Gifts
Father’s Day is coming up fast but there’s still time for you to find your dad a unique gift. In fact, with so many car shopping deals still available, it’s still a good time to buy a new or used car. If you are considering buying a new car for your dad this Father’s Day, Kelley Blue Book says these are some of the coolest and most affordable cars to gift your dad.
2020 Ford Mustang
Price: $26,187
Unsurprisingly, KBB named the Ford Mustang as its top choice for dad. This epic pony car started a revolution and is actually pretty affordable too. Its standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder is extremely fun to drive and puts out a 310 horsepower and offers 350 pound-feet of torque. More powerful engine options include a 5.0-liter V8 engine on the GT Line trim level and a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine on the Shelby models.
2020 Fiat 124 Spider
Price: $27,613
If your dad is an empty nester and is looking for a convertible to make regular drives more exciting, you should seriously consider the Fiat 124 Spider. The 124 Spider boasts classic Italian style inside and out so if your dad appreciates simplicity, this is probably the sports car for him.
This sports car gets its power from a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 160 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard but a six-speed automatic is an available option. The main drawback of the 124 Spider models is that it can be pretty hard to find. Because of this, you might also want to consider the Mazda Miata as a backup option.
2020 Mazda CX-5
Price: $26,551
The 2020 Mazda CX-5 is ideal for the dad who needs an everyday vehicle that’s affordable, fuel-efficient, and fun to drive. You might have heard that the CX-5 is a particularly good option since it delivers on luxury-like qualities at a discounted price. Its interior is very similar to that of a Mercedes and its tech features are very user friendly.
The CX-5 also earns high marks for its composed handling and satisfying acceleration. There’s only one engine option for the CX-5 and that’s a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that makes a 187 horsepower. The CX-5 also features a six-speed automatic transmission which makes it feel even more refined.
2020 Hyundai Veloster N
Price: $26,786
This option might seem like a wild card but KBB especially recommends the Hyundai Veloster N for new dads. Why you might ask? Well, the Veloster N is both fun to drive and family-friendly. The Veloster N model is a high-performer that is both rewarding and nimble.
Technology is also a notable aspect of the Veloster N. Its infotainment system offers a high-quality touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. The standard Veloster model is pretty basic on the inside but the Veloster N is more upscale and features leather trimmings. Its front seats are particularly comfortable and it offers a good amount of cargo space for a vehicle its size.
