The Ford F-150 is nearing the place of Coke in the south. The term “Coke” is used in place of any specific soft drink; they are all “Cokes.” More appropriately, it’s like calling all small 4x4s a Jeep. That is kind of how it feels to talk about the 2021 F-150. It is hard to find anything to say that really even matters all that much. The model is ubiquitous throughout the Truck-dom. Kelly Blue Book did a 2021 Ford F-150 review, and they had a lot to say about it. All roads lead to the new F-150 being the most Versatile pickup truck ever.

The 2021 F-150 review

KBB reports that the 2021 Ford F-150 is downright sophisticated. Everything from the ride, noise suppression, and power delivery are done with grace and comfort. Right off the bat, the tester mentions that the visibility and driving position is great and make the driver feel confident in the F-150. But unlike so many reviews, the 2021 F-150 has so many options and configurations, KBB had to go all in.

Is the 2021 F-150 a good truck? 

The Kelly Blue Book testers describe the PowerBoost hybrid engine as having “intense thrust, invisible transitions between electric-only and gasoline-powered propulsions, plus pleasantly silent operation at slow speeds.” The PowerBoost uses a 3.5-liter 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with a 35 KW electric motor and a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery mounted below the rear seat. 

This extremely strong and snappy powerplant is also quite efficient, as KBB reports a total range of 700-miles per tank. We aren’t talking about a little city car or an EV with 10,000 batteries. This is an American 4×4 pickup truck with 430 hp, can tow up to 12,000 lbs, and has a freaking built-in power generator. That rolling workshop gets 700 miles out of a full tank. Just think about that for a second.

Kelly Blue Book says the 2021 Ford F-150 has a killer interior

The interior was completely redesigned for the 2021 F-150 with all new upgraded materials and new color combinations. The dash is also sporting a whole new look and pile of gadgetry. The new 8-inch infotainment screen is twice the previous model’s size, and there is even an optional 12-inch verison on higher-level trims. 

There is also an optional work surface for certain configurations. It makes a flat writing surface of the center console. This surface can be folded up in the push of a button. The front seats can also recline to a nearly flat surface if you need to pull over and bust a nap. The 2021 Ford-150 truly feels like the most useable truck ever made. 

KBB’s favorite features 

The testers mention that even though everything about the new F-150 is new, it doesn’t really look all that different. It is a touch wider now to give a little more aggressive stance. Also, Ford gave the new F-150 what seems like a million different options. KBB says the F-150 has 11 different grilles and three different headlight designs, plus 13 different wheel designs that range from 17 to 22 inches. There are also multiple cab layouts, bed sizes, and just about any other option you could imagine. 

As the list of features grows, I’d be remiss if I left out the automatic running boards. The 2021 F-150 has new extended-length power running boards activated with a kick switch underneath the truck. The tailgate has a multi-functional design called the Tailgate Work Surface that includes integrated rulers, a cupholder, a pencil holder, and a smartphone/tablet holder. 

There is almost nothing this pickup truck can’t do; It has many super-powerful engine options. The F-150 can be very fuel-efficient when it wants to be. It has so many configurations that it is almost hard even to wrap my head around. The thing has a built-in power generator that is a strong as any personal use generator on the market. The 2021 Ford F-150 review might prove that this is the most versatile pickup truck ever.
