The 2022 Kia EV6 may not be the most common electric SUV on the road today, but that has not stopped this EV from winning awards and praises from critics. The EV6 offers unique styling, up to 310 miles of electric range, and a number of other attractive features. Like many other EV models, the 2022 EV6 does have a higher price tag at $40,900. Despite this, it has won the “Best Electric Vehicle” from U.S. News for 2022.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 a good EV?

According to U.S. News, the Kia EV6 does excel at being an electric SUV. The publication ranked it above other EVs, which is a testament to the quality of vehicle that Kia is currently producing. Things like starting price, charging rate, and electric range were taken into consideration. And those are mostly points where the EV6 shines.

One of the best features of this Kia model is its range. When properly equipped, the estimated range is 310 miles, which should be ample enough for most uses. Plus, with the right charging, the EV6 can add almost 220 miles of range in under 20 minutes. Which is a pretty impressive number to have for an EV.

Is the Kia EV6 good in snow?

The 2022 EV6 can be a good SUV for snow. It has available all-wheel drive which will help it to handle inclement weather. Additionally, when the temperature drops, the available heat pump will reduce range depletion. And that is something that many drivers who deal with winter are likely to appreciate.

Cold weather can cause the range of an EV to be less than optimal. So things like a heat pump are key to making an electric SUV practical for year-round use. And that is something that Kia has added to the EV6, so those in northern states are not as hesitant to buy.

Is the Kia EV6 coming to America?

The 2022 Kia EV6 will be available in all 50 states. In other world markets, the EV6 has more of a presence, but as production is ramped up and more models arrive at dealerships, we expect that this electric SUV will gain popularity in the states. With supply chain issues and chip shortages, many manufacturers are struggling to get inventory to stores. And, the 2022 Kia EV6 is no different, so buying one right now may be a difficult task.

We are glad to hear that Kia is planning to offer this vehicle nationwide. In the past, models like the EV6 have sometimes been available in certain states. In our opinion, the more EV models on the road, the better, especially if they are as proven as the 2022 EV6.

Should you buy the 2022 Kia EV6?

If you are interested in a new EV, the EV6 is a practical and usable vehicle. It may not be widely available yet, but once it is, taking Kia’s latest EV for a test drive is something that you should consider. It does have a starting cost of slightly over $40,000, but with federal tax incentives, some of that cost can be offset.
