Get ready to be excited about the new Kia EV9. If you like the Kia Telluride, then you might find the Kia EV9 to be electrifying. It will serve as a larger SUV that’s much more efficient by ditching gas for electricity. 

The Kia EV9 will be revealed on November 11 

Mark November 11 on your calendar. That’s when you can feast your eyes upon the new Kia EV9 concept. It’s expected to be like the incredibly popular Kia Telluride. All we’ve seen so far is a boxy silhouette. 

The Kia EV6 is a midsize SUV that’s 182 inches in length. So, we will see how much larger the EV9 is. Also, the naming system reminds us of the way Mazda names its vehicles. For example, the CX-50 is smaller than the CX-70. 

What expect with the EV9 

The Kia EV9 will ride on an iteration of the E-GMP electric platform. The platform features an 800-volt electrical system and bi-directional charging. In the Kia EV6, it generates 576 hp and 546 lb-ft of torque. The EV9 could have more power. 

It will use either a single-motor powertrain or a dual-motor setup that includes all-wheel drive. It may offer two different battery pack sizes as well. 

It will be one of the 11 new electric vehicles that Kia is planning to deliver by 2026. Hyundai is also planning to incorporate 23 new electric vehicles by 2025. However, the EV9 is just a platform, so they better get moving. 

The Hyundai Ioniq 7 will debut on November 17. Teasers of this Hyundai EV show a similar design to the Ioniq 5. Plus, the Ioniq 7. It should be like the three-row Hyundai Palisade, only with a more futuristic look. 

So, the EV9 and Ioniq 7 could be twins, like the Telluride and the Palisade. The Telluride serves as a more traditional boxy SUV, while the Palisade is more a luxury version. Both vehicles have a ton of parts in common. 

Because the EV9 is a concept, it may change before it enters production. Also, its timeline is currently unclear. It will serve as a preview of what to expect as Kia provides a more sustainable future. 

Is the Kia EV6 worth buying? 

Yes, if you don’t want to wait for the Kia EV9 to arrive, you can get started with the 2022 Kia EV6. It should be available in January 2022. The first Edition EV6 has an MSRP of $58,500, but lower-priced trims should arrive later. 

The EV6 may come with a federal tax credit of $7,500 and provide an estimated $5,045 in gas savings. With 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque, the EV6 has an estimated range of 300 miles on a full charge. With a DC fast charger, you can replenish about 210 miles of range in 18 minutes. 

The EV6 GT model will arrive later in the year with 576 hp. It’s expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 3.2 seconds. It offers a partial self-driving feature and remorse control parking. Plys, the next-generation head-up display, uses Augmented Reality (AR) to project 3D images on the windshield. 

You’ll find a luxurious interior with a freestanding center console to provide a spacious and open feel. The twin 12-inch screen arrangement provides driver information on one side and the entertainment system on the other.
