A Koenigsegg Jesko Is Basically Bullet Bill for Rich People

The Koenigsegg Jesko is designed to do one thing: get a person from Point A, around some corners, and back to Point A as fast as humanly possible. Basically, it's like climbing into Bullet Bill, pressing "B", and sending your happy ass off into the horizon.

The Koenigsegg Jesko is designed to do one thing: get a (rich) person from Point A, around some corners, and back to Point A as fast as humanly possible. Basically, it’s like climbing into Bullet Bill, pressing “B”, and sending your happy ass off into the horizon. Or firing yourself out of a $3,000,000 cannon. Or jumping out of a plane. Actually, that last one is too slow. You will go faster in a Jesko. But what in the hell is it?

Forget the whole “it’s a spaceship with wheels” trope we journalists love so much. The Jesko is a spaceship, wheels and all. Moreover, the Koenigsegg Jesko is a hypercar built like a spaceship. There’s a little airbase in Angelholm, Sweden. Outside, a small sign that says “Koenigsegg” on it. In it are pristine white floors and more tech than SpaceX. Honestly, if you drove by you wouldn’t ever know what kind of full-moon, mad-scientist lunacy is going on inside.

That’s where the Swedish company is based, and where their very, very exclusive line of cars is built. Now mind you, Koenigsegg is a 27-year-old company that hasn’t built a sub-million dollar car in recent memory. Thankfully, their cars perform like it, and the Jesko is no exception. Frankly, the thing looks so absurd I wouldn’t even care about the power figures (1,578 hp and 1,1076 lb-ft) but they’re impressive nonetheless.

The vehicle you see in the first photo is the “normal” (if that word even applies) Jesko. Designed to be “the leading track-focused, road-legal car for those looking for the ultimate in vehicle performance.” So, the first version of the Koenigsegg is for all-out circuit dominance. This is the Jesko Absolut. If you can’t tell from the more sleek profile and stunning super-slippery wheels, this one is about a little more… well, more.

The Jesko Absolut, named for founder Christian von Koenigsegg’s father, is the real Bullet Bill, Star Power recipe from the Swedish brand. Per their website, the Absolut is to be the fastest Koenigsegg ever. I should point out that the brand has held multiple top speed records in the past. In Absolut spec, the Jesko will make a “minimum 1600 hp.” How’s that for more?

It should be noted that the Absolut has not completed a top-speed run yet. But if we’re going just off looks, I’d say that either the “regular” Jesko or the Absolut are about the fastest things this side of wings. That’s all thanks to founder Christian von Koenigsegg. Frankly, I could write a whole book on the technology he’s created. In summary, the man is brilliant and customers pay a premium for that. Read “premium” as millions. And “that” meaning launched off into the horizon faster than you can read this. Sounds fun, right?
