While this is undoubtedly one of the better-looking examples of a replica kit car out there, it’s still a bit difficult to justify spending that much money on a fake car. Especially when you find out it retains the original Pontiac Fiero powerplant.

There’s no doubt that the Lamborghini Countach is one of the most iconic supercars in the world. It far surpasses its timeframe of the late ‘70s and into the ‘80s and still captures the imagination of people worldwide. So, it’s super easy to understand why one might want a replica. Even if not for show-boating reasons or pretending to be legit, you’d get to wake up every morning and see that iconic shape in your garage or driveway.

However, aside from aesthetics, the Countach just isn’t the Countach without its heart. This replica takes its cues from a Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV, or Quattrovalvole. The real deal has a 5.2-liter V12 engine that makes 449 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. It makes an absolutely ear-splitting wailing sound as it works its way up to 7,500 RPM.

Instead of that iconic V12, though, you’ll find a lowly 2.8-liter V6 native to the 1988 Pontiac Fiero chassis beneath the bodywork. According to Automobile Catalog, it makes a whopping 135 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque.

The seller states that this car came from a company called Exotic Illusions. In 2001, MotorTrend did a piece on the company and gave it high praise for the impressive replicas. The article states that Exotic Illusions was a haven for Lamborghini parts. This includes headlights and windshields because its kits used authentic Lamborghini parts throughout the replicas.

Evidently, Exotic Illusions made the kits available with a Chevrolet small-block V8 powerplant when they were new, too. One can only imagine getting their hands on one of those now and putting a twin-turbo LS powerplant into it!

Even the V8 examples use the Pontiac Fiero’s Getrag five-speed manual transmission, so who’s to say exactly how much power they are capable of handling. 

Overall, this Lamborghini Countach Replica is nothing short of stunning. The work and attention to detail is absolutely amazing, and the Cadillac Azule Blue color choice is second to none. It would be hard for the general public to decipher it from a real Countach. Even if you put them inside it!

However, the second you fire it up, it all goes out the window. As cool as it looks, it’s just hard to get past that unfortunate V6.
