The Lamborghini Huracán is a versatile platform in the world of supercars. Endowed with a V10 engine and all-wheel drive (AWD), the first Huracáns were fast cars with race pedigree. Since the original Huracán, the line has expanded to include track-focused models as well as rear-wheel drive (RWD) driver’s delights. Previous models aside, the new Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica is a 631 hp lunatic.

How many Lamborghini Huracán models are there? 

First sold in 2015, the Huracán is a spiritual successor to the Lamborghini Gallardo. According to Auto Evolution, there have been six generations of Huracán, culminating in the new Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica. The line started with the LP 610-4, produced from 2014 to 2019. The LP 580-2 complimented the LP 610-4 by introducing a driver-focused RWD variant of the Lamborghini. Before Lamborghini gave the Huracán a facelift in 2019, the company released a track-focused version of the car in the Peformante.

In 2019, the Evo and Evo RWD rode onto the scene, each packing a high-revving V10 engine. The Huracán Evo cars arrived with a facelift and an upgrade to the powerplant. Finally, Lamborghini crowned the model lineup with the STO, a motorsport-inspired supercar with a 640 hp V10. The STO was the latest Huracán model until the recent reveal of the Tecnica.

Tecnica will be a RWD V10 supercar with 631 horsepower

Car and Driver reports that the maniacal new Tecnica will be the second-to-last Huracán, perhaps before Lamborghini releases an electrified variant. Tecnica will feature the same 5.2L V10 as the current range-topping Huracán. In addition to the powerplant, the new Lamborghini is reported to have more aerodynamic grip and less drag than the Evo models. In fact, Car and Driver says that the Tecnica is 35% more effective at utilizing downforce for grip. Due to the hardcore downforce and extra power, the new Huracán will likely be faster than the Evo cars.

However, the Tecnica can be considered a companion car to the STO. Like the Evo and Evo RWD, the Tecnica offers a different drive than its sister Lamborghini. Lamborghini designed the new vehicle to be a road car first, so it features a less spartan interior than the STO. That doesn’t mean that the interior is up to Bentley standards, though. Sculpted racing seats and fabric door pulls remind the operator that this is still a Lamborghini thoroughbred.  

How much will the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica cost?

According to Car and Driver, the Evo model and the top-tier race-inspired STO will bookend the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica. As a result, Lamborghini will situate the price point between the two other cars. The Tecnica will go on sale next year for $245,295. 

The latest little Lamborghini is not the last variant of the Huracán

Tecnica will be the second-to-last iteration of the little Lamborghini. The company is looking to move in a different direction with electrification, and the result will be a very different-looking lineup. The last Huracán could potentially be a derivation of the Sterrato concept car, an off-road Lamborghini with attitude and AWD. Regardless of what the final Huracán looks like, the little Lamborghini will be missed.
