Over the top styling, hyper-fast, super rare; what’s missing that Lamborghini forgot to include with the Sián supercar? How about a convertible version? When Motorbiscuit last visited what many feel is the ultimate supercar it debuted in October as a radically-styled, 819 hp coupe. Only 63 will be produced. Now it has revealed a convertible version with the goal of producing 19 copies. This makes the Lamborghini Hybrid Sián roadster 819 hp ultimate open-air excess.

With styling taken from the Terzo Millenio concept car, the Sián is resplendent in intense excess. Does over-the-top describe it well enough? What can be said is that it is angular, sultry, and excessive all in one fast package. The busyness of the vents, scoops, and details are barely held together as a design statement. But it does hold together, though not as well as the coupe.

With the vents where the C-pillar used to be integrated with the roll bars things get a bit busy and chopped up. The roll bars are so pronounced that in certain angles it hides the fact this is without a top. There is so much going on it’s hard to take it all in.

From the rear, it looks like a dragon with its limbs going every which way. There is not a moment of rest for your eyes while taking in the rear. It is just an insane amount of surface changes, details, lights, vents, exhaust, and more, crammed into a limited amount of real estate.

As complex as the Sián’s body is it’s just as complex under the skin

As complex as the body is it is just as complex under the skin. Lambo has anointed the Sián with the 6.5-liter V12 from its Aventador SV.  Maybe 16-cylinders would be more insane but there’s barely enough room for the V12. The difference between the Aventador’s engine and this one is the 48-volt hybrid system.

The hybrid system does not use batteries. Instead, Lamborghini uses supercapacitors to create juice. In all the specs reveal a convertible that can blitz to 60 mph in under 2.9 seconds. The top speed is 218 mph. There may be faster supercars, but nothing touches the combined features of hybrid power combined with intense looks.

All 19 Sián roadsters have been spoken for

Now, here’s the bad news: all 19 Sián roadsters have been spoken for. Many including the Motorbiscuit staff had our wallets out ready to order. Alas, it is not to be. However, it will be entertaining to see how the 19 end up looking. Each owner gets to consult with Lamborghini Ad Personam to create their own unique Sián. 

The car shown has been finished in “Blu Uranus” which is sort of a dark turquoise color. The muted bronze color wheels and details tie in with the rest of the car surprisingly well. Of course, black or any dark color will tone down the styling if you need that. Though prices aren’t advertised the general consensus is the Sián should be under $4 million.
