Last week, an ultra-luxury, 650-hp SUV encountered a flying circus of police obstacles. A white Lamborghini Urus—a car with an average sticker price of $232,000—was seen speeding in the Great Toronto area. Canadian police had a heck of a time stopping it. A video of the chase is below.

After midnight on Sunday, July 7th, the SUV was clocked moving at more than 130 mph. Since the Urus driver didn’t immediately stop, an Air Support Unit was called in. It followed the Urus to a residential area, where an emergency response team again tried to stop it.

The driver evaded the team but crossed over a tire deflation device set up by a canine unit. The right front tire blew and tore away once the Urus jumped back on the highway, leaving a bare rim. No matter for the driver, they just continued the runaround, albeit at a slower speed. Air Support read off an estimated 86 mph.

Next, the Lamborghini led responders to a second residential area. There, police cruisers attempted to block the SUV. Instead, the driver used the Urus to ram into the vehicles before escaping once again.

Air Support followed the Urus to an industrial complex, where the driver and at least two passengers exited the Lamborghini and went to an accomplice’s vehicle. Here, police tried to stop the getaway car.

When the responding team tried to make the arrest, the accomplice drove over a police officer’s foot.

Finally, police stopped the accomplice’s vehicle and arrested two men. We don’t know who owned the Urus or the total damages it sustained. My estimate is “a freaking lot.”

For starters, driving on a bare rim obviously ruins it and can cause seriously pricey suspension issues. For example, the steering knuckle may bend. Next, Urus rims run about $4,500 each. Then, there’s the blown tire, whatever unknown steering and suspension damages are present, or any of the body damage it sustained during the chase.
