When we first saw the mockup of the Lamborghini Urus six-wheel monstrosity on several forums, we thought it was somebody’s brain fart to destroy a perfectly good Urus. We never thought it would see completion. But now, more images of the Lambo Urus are surfacing, showing we were wrong. Now, we had to find out what the story is behind this obviously expensive and outrageous Urus six-wheel project. 

Images of the Urus 6×6, both in progress and now that it is done, are few and far between. The same goes for any information about it. Are both rear wheel sets driven, or is the addition of the extra two wheels just for show? In one of the quick videos, you can see the middle wheels kind of drag, indicating they’re drag-alongs.

How well done is this fantastical Lamborghini Urus 6×6?

Whoever executed the build did a pretty good job. The extension of the side windows and top integrates into the relatively stock section from the B-pillar forward. The back of the top has a bit more lean to it, or maybe it is just distortion in the images. Either way, it looks good. 

Both the wheel openings and fender extensions carry through, and the deck spoiler looks to be unique. So it is possible it was done for this car alone. 

Is this Lamborghini Urus 6×6 built for off-road?

Inside, we don’t know whether there is more seating, the original seats are further back, or if the extra space is just for more cargo. Whatever the case, that was probably not much of a consideration. This thing is about the Wow! Factor. 

As 6×6 builds are mostly for better off-road performance, it is curious that this build uses low-profile tires on widened wheels. Even the front wheels are wider than stock, necessitating the additional wheel flares. Seeing it in different images, it looks like there is an adjustable suspension of some sort. In some images, the rear of the body looks lower than in other shots. 

How did they make the modified body panels?

We speculate that the top and rear quarter extensions were laid up in a mold, with the icky red being a gel coat. You can tell by the flanges around what window openings. What that means is these panels, if the parts were from a mold, can be made again and again. So, is this a prototype for other Urus fans wanting a 6×6 themselves? 

Is this the ultimate Urus? It depends, but from Lamborghini, there is the Urus Performante for those looking for more than a basement Lamborghini SUV. And we wonder what Lamborghini might think of this outrageously modified Urus.

So overall, we admit, there is a dearth of information on this wild ride. Whether intentional or not, we’ll need to remain vigilant in finding out more about it. In the meantime, if you want one for yourself, we think whoever made this can make another one just for you, too.
