Cranky no more: The last SUV with roll-up windows went automatic
One classic feature is officially dead quantity cars and SUVs. Say goodbye to cranking your windows. The 2025 Jeep Wrangler officially dropped roll-up windows and automatic ones are standard. Here’s what else is new.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler drops roll-up windows
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is entering a new modern age by eliminating classic roll-up windows. Drivers will only be able to crank their windows on older models. Some kids today will never have to manually open or close a car window again.
Now you might have to replace a window motor in your Wrangler one day! But at least the benefits include opening and closing windows faster. Plus, cranking windows while driving can be distracting.
The available power windows and door locks are standard. This will not make the doors harder to remove as higher trim levels have had standard automatic windows for years. All you have to do is unbolt the hinges and unclip an electrical connector for open-air freedom.
Pricing for the 2025 Jeep Wrangler hasn’t been released yet. It’s safe to expect a price increase as the barebones model now has slightly more modern features.
The 2024 Wrangler starts with an MSRP of $31,995. The $1,795 destination fee takes the starting price up to $33,790. The top-spec Rubicon 392 model increases the price to $93,340 with the destination fee included.
Because the 2024 Wrangler just received a mid-cycle refresh, it doesn’t have many other significant changes to note.
A new color called 41 which is olive drab will be available. Plus, there’s a new Black/Mantis Green interior color and a new High Altitude trim will debut later.
The standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque is only available with the six-speed manual transmission. For the automatic transmission, you have to upgrade to the 2.0-liter inline-four engine which costs $2,500.
