Leaked: The 2023 Ford Escape Finally Looks Attractive
We’ve been tracking the Ford Escape for a while to see what’s next, and now it’s time to get excited. The 2023 Ford Escape was caught without camouflage, and it looks incredible. See what to expect with the new Escape.
2023 Ford Escape: What’s new?
You need to feast your eyes on the 2023 Ford Escape. It just gained an attractive facelift that helps it look more confident and modern. The aggressive styling finally matches the amount of power this SUV offers.
According to Car and Driver, the new Escape was spotted outside of its production facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Instead of seeming a bit bland, the Escape now features angle LED headlights with a light bar going across the top of the grille.
The grill has a bit of a smaller shape, and the front bumper is boxier with more prominent fog lights. The rear end was restyled, too, and we can probably expect new wheel designs. Plus, new shades of paint should be available.
It looks a bit tougher with the addition of a faux skid plate. This may indicate that a tougher off-roading trim is on the way, but we will have to wait and learn more. The new Ford Escape is expected to arrive this fall.
Does the 2023 Escape have more power?
The official specs for the 2023 Ford Escape haven’t been released, but it could gain more power. However, the Escape already offers more engine options than its competitors and doesn’t exactly need more muscle.
With the standard 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, you get 191 hp and 19 lb-ft of torque, which is average. You can upgrade to the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for 250 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, which is exciting.
Also, the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is paired with an electric motor in the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. This setup cranks out 200 hp. Depending on the engine, the Escape can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.7 to 8.5 seconds.
The Ford Escape PHEV can achieve up to 105 mpg on a full charge. The hybrid model gets an EPA-estimated 44 mpg in the city and up to 37 mpg on the highway. The Ford Escape can tow up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped, putting it on par with rivals.
How much does the 2023 Ford Escape cost?
Official pricing for the 2023 Ford Escape hasn’t been released. The 2022 Ford Escape starts at about $27,025. The price of the 2023 model could increase by a few hundred bucks to cover all the upgrades.
The interior will also be refreshed to include more upscale materials like wood trim, leather upholstery, and soft-touch covered surfaces. It could get more advanced tech as well.
We wouldn’t be surprised if the standard 4.2-inch radio display is dropped. Also, a larger unit could replace the optional 8.0-inch infotainment screen. The 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster could receive better graphics too.
Stay tuned for more Ford Escape updates. We should learn more about it any day now as its debut for the fall approaches.
