When can you order the 2024 Ford Ranger?
You can order the 2024 Ford Ranger right now, but we encourage reading the rest of our article first. Then Ranger production is scheduled to start on July 2023. This is subject to delays, so don’t set this production date in stone. Use them as a guide, and stay prepared.
Last year, the Maverick orders and production date was pushed back due to delays. The market still faces the ongoing semiconductor shortage, supply chain constraints, and inflation.
These production dates line up as production of the current Ranger is expected to end on March 23. This gave Ford a few weeks to prep the Michigan assembly plant to make the switch. Also, CarScoops shared that the Ford Ranger Raptor will also be made there.
What engines does the 2024 Ranger have?
The reliable 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque was carried over from the previous generation. It’s the standard option.
Upgrade to the new 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost engine for 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The Ford Ranger Raptor uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 405 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque for racing across the desert.
Also, other countries have a turbo diesel engine that didn’t come to America and a seven-speed manual transmission. The North American model will probably use a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Rumors suggest that a Ford Ranger Hybrid is in the works. But the hybrid variant could come out a few months after the initial release. We’re waiting on the PHEV and EV models too!
The 2024 Ranger can tow up to 7,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,905 lbs. It doesn’t need more power, but the Jeep Gladiator beats it by being able to tow up to 7,700 lbs.
Does the next-generation Ranger have a better interior?
Yes, the 2024 Ford Ranger interior is upscale, modern, and advanced. The storage has been improved to feature plenty of bins, trays, and cubbies. There’s even a hidden bin above the glove box.
A 10.1-inch infotainment screen may come standard, but you can upgrade to the 12.1-inch vertically oriented unit. We are impressed because the Ranger to features a new digital gauge cluster and head-up display.
It has standard wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Some trims go bigger with things like built-in navigation and a premium audio system. Also, the Ranger gained more standard safety features.
