LEAKED: Key Tesla Cybertruck Specs Just Dropped
For the most part, Tesla has been extremely secretive about the Cybrtruck. However, as we get closer to the delivery day event, more Tesla Cybertruck clues are starting to surface. We finally have tangible specs to share.
When is the Tesla Cybertruck coming out?
The Tesla Cybertruck will officially debut on November 30, 2023. A special delivery event is being held as some of the first customers finally receive their electric trucks. We’ve only been waiting for this to happen since 2019.
It’s a little odd that there’s still hardly any information about the Cybertruck despite only being days away from the event. We might have to wait for the first round of drivers to get behind the wheel before we learn about the official price and standard features.
But allegedly, a few key details were leaked. For example, images show a panel of outlets on the left side of the bed.
It looks like there are two 120-volt outlets and one 240-volt connector. A tiny door opens and closes to protect them. Elon Musk said the Cybertruck will have a built-in air compressor, but the leaked information didn’t share any details about it.
Reportedly, these are the only power sources, meaning there might not be additional outlets in the frunk or the bed. The Ford F-150 Lightning is pretty convenient, with outlets in multiple locations.
Also, the plugs are most likely there to provide power to tools and campsites, like the F-150’s Pro Power OnBoard generator.
How big is the Cybertruck?
Based on the leaked information, the Tesla Cybertruck is 223.2 inches long and 79.9 inches wide, excluding the side mirrors. Vehicles that are over 80 inches wide are required to have three amber positioning lights. It’s just under the mark for that heavy-duty truck style.
It’s roughly 70.5 inches tall when the adjustable air suspension is set at medium height. The suspension can raise or lower the Cybertruck by four inches with self-level capabilities to provide an optimal performance in various conditions.
Also, the wheelbase is 143 inches long. The bed is 72.8 inches long and 51 inches wide, and the frunk has a cargo capacity of 7.1 cubic feet.
The Ford F-150 Lightning is 231.7 inches long and 9.5 inches longer than the Cybertruck. It’s 79.9 to 86.6 inches wide and 80 inches tall. The wheelbase is 2.5 inches longer at 145 inches.
The F-150 Lightning’s bed is 66 inches long and 50.6 inches wide. The frunk has 14.1 cubic feet of cargo space.
How much can the Cybertruck tow?
According to Elon Musk, the Telsa Cybertruck can tow up to 14,000 lbs, but the leaked information claims that it can only tow up to 11,000 lbs. The F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 lbs.
The Cybertruck frunk can allegedly carry a load of up to 450 lbs, and the Lightning maxes out at 400 lbs. Also, Musk suggests that the Cybertruck can carry a payload of up to 3,500 lbs while the Lightning can carry up to 2,235 lbs.
Also, the dual-motor Cybertruck is reportedly 6,670 lbs, while the tri-motor version is only slightly heavier at 6,890 lbs. Does that mean they have similar batteries? For comparison’s sake, the F-150 Lightning weighs 6,893 lbs.
The leaked documents didn’t mention the range or horsepower. However, Elon Musk claims that the Cybertruck has up to 500 miles of range and up to 805 hp. The Lightning has an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles with up to 580 hp.
