Leaked Photos Of The 2022 Jeep Compass You Weren’t Supposed To See
Later this month is expected to be the time for the reveal of the updated 2022 Jeep Compass. The upcoming Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition in China is set for the unveiling. But a Chinese website DCDAPP.com has obtained images of them. Until now Fiat Chrysler had successfully concealed the refreshed Compass. Let’s take a look, shall we?
From the front, the Compass has seen subtle changes made
From the front, there have been subtle changes made. The grille has been slightly changed in the bumper mask area, but the front fenders and hood remain the same as 2021 models. That is pretty typical since the tooling is far less for soft covers than for hard tooling. Headlights have been enlarged slightly.
To that end, the area below the grille has been changed substantially but with the bottom dam integrated better than the previous design. More open, expansive openings are the trend as you know. This follows that direction.
At the rear, everything remains pretty much as with the 2021 Compass
At the rear, everything remains pretty much as with the 2021 model with the exception of the rear valance which gets slightly softened and simplified. It looks slightly softened but is a bit hard to tell in the images provided. Suffice it to say there’s not much difference.
The 2022 Compass Trailhawk trim is also shown. The entire grille is blacked out and the expanse of black takes up the entire area below the front cover break. If matte black is your thing you’ll be happy to see a patch of it on the hood with an accent of red. While previous versions blacked out the top as well in these images that is not the case. The alloy wheels also look new.
The main 2022 Compass change will be the 10-inch Uconnect infotainment screen
No images were leaked of the interior. It is expected that besides some trim and fabric pattern changes the main change will be the 10-inch Uconnect infotainment screen along with a digital instrument panel. This will be offered on the higher trims. Obviously, when the 2022 Compass does break we’ll have it for you.
The Compass is an important cog in the Jeep universe. Starting out slowly back in 2006 it has slowly gained traction with sales inching up to almost 172,000 units in 2018 before falling back to 144,000 in 2019. For 2020 the numbers are down but everything is in 2020. The compact crossover segment has gotten hotter and so it behooves Jeep to keep up the pace with upgrades. We suspect that the 2022 facelift was scheduled for 2021 before the pandemic slowed everything down.
