Well, you knew this would happen it was just a matter of when. An online Bronco forum snagged these images of what is most assuredly the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. This is not the regular-size Bronco also coming soon to a Ford dealer near you. This is the smaller Bronco “Sport” front-wheel-drive version. Some call it “mini-Bronco.” Whatever you want, these are the first images we’ve seen without the camo from spy shots.

The Bronco Sport is Ford’s Renegade fighter

So, this is Ford’s Renegade fighter. There were some rumors earlier in the year pointing to “Maverick” as the baby Bronco’s name. The rear image obviously kills that speculation. It’s Bronco Sport for sure.

The larger Bronco is supposed to debut in some form this month. Now it looks like we’ll see both of the new Broncos by then with the leak of these images. So, what do you think?

It’s not too Bronco-like but we still like it

The design of the Sport is not too Bronco-like, though we like it. It lacks the classic Bronco cues we expect to see on the regular Bronco. Ford went all-in on Bronco branding when it decided to do two versions. With the company killing off almost all of its sedans it makes sense it has to have something to fill in the product portfolio. 

We’ve got two different Mustangs, and we’ll soon have two Broncos. That’s how Ford wants to roll nowadays. As the most anticipated new vehicle this year Ford told its dealers it expects to sell over 200,000 in 2021 according to Automotive News. Dealers are said to be anticipating more enthusiastic sales than those of the new F-150 design and Mustang Mach-E which will also become available later this year.
