LEAKED: Toyota Future Plans With Images For Next Two Years
A massive leak of future product plans has landed on the internet that spells out new Toyota models and information for the next two years. There’s also other info we’ll get into as well. This is supposedly leaked from a package for a presentation at a recent Toyota/Lexus dealer conference. The material appeared first at allcarnews on Instagram. Here are the images and what material goes with them to wet your pallet for new Toyota/Lexus products.
The future includes a new Toyota GR86/BRZ for July 2021
First, the all-new BRZ and GR86 will be out in July 2021. The “GR” replaces the “GT” and stands for Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division. They will be on a new rear-wheel drive platform and it will get a better interior and 255 hp turbocharged engine. If there’s one thing enthusiasts wanted to see it is more power for the 86. It looks like Toyota was listening.
The Camry refresh is for 2021. An all-new Camry is coming in 2024. The Avalon also gets a refresh in 2022. We also discover that the Venza will be back after being dropped in 2015. There will also be a new Corolla crossover in 2021 and a hybrid Sienna minivan. So 2021 is shaping up to be a crowded year for Toyota’s new product releases.
An all-new Tundra finally arrives in 2021
Finally, an all-new 4Runner and Sequoia will hit in 2022. These are based on the all-new 2021 Tundra which has been long-awaited. It will be built on the all-new TNGA-F platform. Power will be from a twin-turbo hybrid V6. The sad news is that the V8 will be gone from the Tundra. The smaller, all-new Tacoma pickup will arrive in 2024.
On the Lexus front, there will be no more V8s offered in any Lexus under $90k MSRP. An all-new twin-turbo V8 arrives in 2022 for the LC-F. In 2022 the LS and ES will get a refresh and the GS will not return. Instead, a rear-wheel drive version of the Toyota Mirai sedan will have Lexus badges.
A stripped Landcruiser and a Bentayga-fighter come in 2022
A new IS is coming in 2021 and a new NX will debut on the new TNGA-K platform. It will boast a 14-inch touchscreen and five choices of powertrains. Then, in 2023 an all-new RX will hit. The GX will be killed and replaced with a new model in 2023.
The new LX will get a twin-turbo V6 hybrid for 2022 and to compete directly with the Bentley Bentayga will get a twin-turbocharged V8. The Landcruiser will become a hardcore off-roading beast with no luxury pretense. Some say it will look like a stripped out model.
