The 2021 Audi e-tron GT looks unlike all the other e-tron models, and we’re OK with that. The GT looks better. It looks and acts like a Porsche Taycan instead of the typical e-tron SUV. In fact, it looks so cool that it made MotorTrend‘s 2021 list of the best-looking cars.

Not only is it beautiful, but it’s also one of the coolest electric cars south of $100,000. It also boasts a unique sound that lets you know it’s coming. And this exciting new vehicle will enjoy its world premiere in just a few days.

The 2021 Audi e-tron GT is one of the best-looking new cars

An electric car that doesn’t look like an egg? The soon-to-debut Audi e-tron GT shows it can be done.

It boasts beautiful sculpting, strong lines, and a super-awesome LED light strip on the rear deck. It also sports 22-inch “ninja star” wheels. And if those features alone don’t make it the coolest, most awesome-looking car, we’re not sure what will.

It doesn’t have a bad angle. It looks gorgeous from all sides. It also looks similar to the Porsche Taycan. But the e-tron GT offers a distinctive personality.

The e-tron SUV

Though not as cool-looking as the GT sedan, the e-tron SUV is a classic Audi EV. The automaker upped the 2021 model’s range to 222 miles, offering 78 mpg-e combined.

And the interior is pure Audi. It boasts a ton of tech and a gorgeous panoramic sunroof. It also offers heated seats. And as an added perk, it’s cheaper than the 2020 model.

It likely won’t perform as well as the Audi e-tron GT model, but the SUV still holds its own among other EVs. One thing that sets it apart from other electric SUVs is that it doesn’t look like a typical EV. It doesn’t drive like one, either.

The automaker has strived to ensure it handles like a regular Audi, making it a point not to look or feel like an electric car. And it has succeeded.

Audi e-tron GT: The ‘Taycan’s twin’

MotorTrend calls the e-tron GT “Taycan’s twin.” And in many ways, it is.

The e-tron GT is reported to have a power output of 440-598 PS and 646 PS with over-boost, translating to 434 hp to 590 hp, or 637 hp with over-boost. Torque is reportedly an impressive 612 lb-ft. These specs are comparable to the Porsche Taycan base model. But it isn’t even close to the Taycan’s turbo versions.

The Audi e-tron GT’s battery has a gross capacity of 93.4 kWh, and 83.7 kWh of that will be usable net energy. Range testing is ongoing, but it’s expected to be comparable to the Taycan’s range of about 200 miles.

The chassis, steering, braking, and suspension are all based on the Taycan as well, but with Audi’s slick, smooth personality. The big differences between the e-tron GT and Taycan will be interior ambiance and price. The Audi’s base MSRP is expected to come in under Porsche’s.

Probably the coolest thing about the Audi e-tron GT is that it looks and acts like a sports car with a monster engine. But it’s better for the environment than the typical combustion-engine sports car while maintaining a cool aesthetic.

It doesn’t sound like one, though. It will boast a unique sound. And don’t forget about those ninja star wheels.
