According to Car and Driver experts, as the 2019 Honda Passport’s logbook began to fill with more and more miles, it was filled with more and more “praise for its vast cargo space and smart interior layout.” 

Even “quarantine life” couldn’t keep the team of experts from taking the Passport out, with one even stating that “the Passport is a master class in how to package a vehicle.”

Every driver of the 2019 Honda Passport appreciated its size, which “feels slightly larger on the inside than it appears from the outside,” but also the wide array of storage space and options throughout the midsize SUV.

Minus a hiccup involving an accident with the driver-side door earlier in testing, the 2019 Honda Passport “has continued to be reliable and fairly painless to maintain.”

Aside from its routine scheduled maintenance (totaling less than $500 over the course of 30,000 miles), the Passport has cost the team absolutely nothing in repair/normal wear costs. 

Even experts at Edmunds don’t have many bad things to say about the 2019 Honda Passport, spending less than $100 on maintenance costs after an entire year of driving. In fact, aside from a problem with a glitchy infotainment system, experts at Edmunds experienced no problems at all with their Passport, which they deem a “comfortable crossover” that “takes the stress out of road trips.”

Comfortable and roomy, the Passport’s cabin features upscale materials and a variety of standard features like a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and the Honda Sensing suite of safety tech. Spaciousness continues throughout the Passport, with a cargo capacity of up to 77.9 cubic-feet that stands out in the segment.

According to U.S. News, the 2019 Honda Passport is powered by a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that makes 280 hp, paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard on the Passport, while all-wheel drive is available.
