The Lincoln Star might go after the Tesla Model Y 

We can’t stop looking at the Lincoln Star concept. No matter where it goes, it seems to dazzle like, well, stars. So, the name might not be the most creative title, but it serves its purpose well. It’s drawing attention to Lincoln’s electrification plans. 

Joy Falotico, Lincoln President, shared that it will offer three new electric vehicles by 2025, and we hope that the Star is first on the list. Lincoln also aims to have half its global volume be electric vehicles by 2030. 

With fresh designs and innovative tech on the way, will the Tesla Model Y maintain its popularity? Reportedly, the Model Y isn’t getting any updates this year, but that’s not stopping its demand. The Model Y is already sold out for 2022. 

What do we know about the Star? 

Keep in mind that the Lincoln Star is currently a concept vehicle, so the features and its styling may change before it officially launches. It has the theme of light, transparency, and electricity, which fits well. 

Some critics think that it has an unreasonable or abnormal look with dramatic sloping edges. But others see a simple and elegant futurist design. The goal is to provide a noble and regal look. 

We feel as if the Tesla Model Y incorporated these ideas, but now it could look a little older in comparison. 

Also, the Star will be crafted with high-end luxury materials to create a peaceful space for people to enjoy. This could draw people from the Model Y as they seek more advanced comfort and convenience amenities. 

The Star feels incredibly futuristic with the use of transparent materials such as an electrochromic glass frunk lid. The A and D pillars are transparent, too, making the electric SUV unique in an exploding market. 

According to Car and Driver, the Lincoln Attaché is a compartment in the rear door or a digital briefcase that houses tablets or laptops while charging them. 

Is the Star comfortable? 

The Lincoln Star prioritizes driver and passenger comfort with reclining lounge chairs, extending leg rests, and even a refrigerator. You can swivel around to grab a snack or drink from the fridge. 

Plus, the rear cargo area opens with plenty of panels and hatches to create the perfect tailgating spot. It could be a hit at sporting events and drive-in movies. The Star uses scent, sound, transparent materials, and complex light to create a multi-sensory driving experience. 

We don’t have a price or production timeline for the Lincoln Star, but we hope it gets moving. It could finally be the perfect match for the Tesla Model Y by providing enhanced comfort and tech.
