The 2022 Nissan Frontier is a mid-size truck that has found itself at the center of attention for many pickup buyers. This truck now offers a standard V6 engine and it has entered its third generation after nearly 20 years of no major updates. If you are shopping for a new mid-size pickup, you may be wondering what the bed dimensions of the Frontier are. And the answer to the question is, that it varies. Nissan offers a variety of bed sizes to help buyers get the right amount of truck for their needs.

What size bed does the 2022 Frontier have?

The Nissan Frontier has three distinct bed sizes. These beds depend on the cab you opt to get for your mid-size truck, and they are all fairly usable. The king cab has a bed that is 73.3 inches long and has a width of 61.4 inches. This bed is the same size as the long bed that is offered to the crew cab.

The standard bed of crew cab models is 59.5 inches long and 61.4 inches long. If you want more room for passengers in your truck and do not need a longer bed, this should be ample room for hauling gear and equipment.

How much can the Nissan Frontier haul?

In terms of hauling, the Frontier does a reasonably good job, it can haul up to 1,610 lbs in payload when properly equipped. This is complemented by the fact that the 2022 Frontier can also tow up to 6,720 lbs. Which is certainly an impressive number for the size of this pickup truck.

Each new Frontier comes equipped with a 3.8-liter V6 engine. This powertrain gives the Frontier the ability to haul and tow thanks to its 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission to ensure smooth delivery of power.

What’s new for the 2022 Nissan Frontier?

The Nissan Frontier is essentially all-new for 2022. This comes after nearly two decades of no major updates for Nissan’s mid-size truck. Each model is outfitted with a V6 engine, revised suspension, and a more refined interior. All of which come together to make the Frontier a worthy truck. According to The Drive, the Frontier is second only to the 2022 Toyota Tacoma in terms of sales. Undoubtedly the new generation has something to do with that.

The Frontier does still ride on a frame that dates back to the early 2000s, but through various changes, the 2022 model does manage to feel new. To some, the Nissan Frontier may still feel like an old-school truck. And that is likely because being old-school has not been seen as a drawback by Nissan. The brand sold the same truck for 16 years, and truck buyers were still interested in what the Frontier had to offer.

With this updated model, the Frontier has found new success and that is likely to continue. Especially because this is an extremely usable mid-size truck.
