Toyota has a fantastic reputation for building car models that will last long into ultra-high mileage. And when iSeeCars ranked the SUV models with the most high mileage examples still on the road, the Toyota Sequoia took the number one spot. The Toyota Land Cruiser landed in second place. But the next three SUVs are all built by General Motors. Here are the top five high mileage legends and how they were ranked:

  5. Chevrolet Tahoe

The iSeeCars website analyzed two million vehicles. What it found was that 1% of Toyota Sequoia’s still on the road have at least 296,509 miles on their odometer. This gives it the highest potential lifespan of any SUV produced at least 10 of the past 20 years. Second place was the Toyota Land Cruiser with 280,236 miles.

What about the General Motors SUVs that are hot on Toyota’s heels? One percent of the Chevrolet Suburbans on the road today have 265,732 miles on the clock. The GMC Yukon XL comes in fourth with 252,360 miles. Finally, in fifth place is the Chevrolet Tahoe with 250,338.

Those top three are actually the vehicles with the highest potential lifespan, in any class. Fourth place overall is the Toyota Tundra, fifth overall is the GMC Yukon XL, and sixth place is the Toyota Prius. The Honda Ridgeline does pretty well with eighth place.

Every vehicle in the top five high mileage SUVs list is a full-size, body-on-frame SUV. They all share a frame and powertrain with a full-size pickup truck (the Tundra in the Toyota’s case, the GMC Sierra/Chevrolet Silverado with the GM SUVs). This heavy-duty construction style makes them overbuilt and durable, and may be one reason they last for so many miles. Here are how the top 20 SUVs stack up:
