The new Mercedes-Benz EQS electric vehicle is making the rounds in the news. This time, Ludacris was spotted checking out the stylish EQS EV and taking it for a spin. The rapper claims he is one of the first people to drive the EQS 580, and who are we to question that? Plus, the Fast & Furious star picked up an electric golf cart for the family at the same time.

Ludacris got a look at the new Mercedes-Benz EQS electric vehicle

Ludacris posted to his official Instagram page that he was able to test drive the new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580. According to Ludacris and Mercedes, the 56-inch hyperscreen spans from the driver’s side to the passenger side. It is no secret that the Fast & Furious star loves his cars, and Mercedes is always at the top of his list.

When it comes to the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Edmunds notes that the EPA hasn’t yet verified it. According to the European WLTP cycle, the EQS 580 4Matic should get around 420 miles on a charge. The WLTP rating tends to be a bit more forgiving than the EPA rating. Edmunds says it could go below 400 miles when rated by the EPA.

The EQS 580 4Matic gets 516 hp and 611 lb-ft of torque. The estimated 0-60 mph time is 4.1 seconds, significantly slower than the other two options. The AMG EQS has 649 hp. Mercedes is also offering an optional overboost function which delivers 751 hp. The Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic Pinnacle model came in at $126,360.

“I feel like I’m about to play a video game, but it’s not a video game. It’s real life, and that I love,” Ludacris says in the video. He also points out that with the hyperscreen, the passenger can watch something different from the driver on the right side of the screen. It also allows the passenger to listen to another song at the same time.

The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) is responsible for this benefit. Each seat has its screen, complete with a microphone capable of distinguishing one passenger from another. Passengers can control entertainment, windows, climate, and navigation.

Ludacris also took delivery of a 2021 E-Z-GO Express L6 ELiTE Lithium golf cart for his family. The all-electric golf cart seats six and comes with 13 hp. The E-Z-GO Express L6 has a top speed of 16 mph, just enough to get the mail in 30 seconds or less. The golf cart comes with USB ports, 23-inch tires, and a convertible rear seat. The starting price for the ELiTE Lithium starts at $15,999 and comes in nine colors. The electric golf car also comes in a gas version and a plug-in 72V powertrain.

So when Ludacris is done driving the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic, the E-Z-GO Express L6 golf cart is a solid replacement. If anyone is going to race to the finish line in an electric vehicle, it is probably Ludacris.
