This Luxury Automaker’s 10-Year Warranty Outshines BMW and Mercedes
Many folks associate expensive parts, repairs, and maintenance with luxury cars. Typically, though, a new car’s warranty is plenty to keep a buyer’s mind at ease. However, there’s only one luxury auto manufacturer that combines all the fancy bells and whistles with a warranty that gives peace of mind for a long-term period. How long term? An entire decade.
Genesis’ powertrain warranty is good for 10 years or 100,000 miles
Genesis, the relatively new luxury marque from South Korean auto giant Hyundai, offers luxury at everyman prices. Their flagship luxury sedan, the G80, rivals the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Audi A7, and Mercedes E-class. However, it has a starting price of under $50,000. For most, though, breaking tradition and going to a relatively unknown brand is a bit difficult. Fortunately, the Genesis warranty makes it easy.
The Genesis 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty covers nearly all engine parts, according to The Drive. The block, cylinder head(s), timing chain, turbocharger(s), gaskets, seals, and more all fall under the warranty. This is just the tip of the warranty iceberg, too.
All new Genesis models also include a 5-year/60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. This guarantees Genesis owners protection against any workmanship or manufacturing defects. Genesis covers everything from electrical components to the vehicle’s body itself in this warranty. Of course, wear items like brake pads, tires, light bulbs, and spark plugs are not included.
Other components with limited coverage include the battery and paint, both of which carry a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Interestingly, the air conditioning refrigerant charge comes with only one year of coverage.
Another included offering with Genesis vehicles is a 3-year/36,000-mile maintenance plan. Routine maintenance like oil changes, air filter replacement, and tire rotations are free within this period. Additionally, when Valet is available, Genesis will pick up your car and give you a loaner during these services.
Finally, Genesis includes five years of roadside assistance with no mileage limitation. They’ll even reimburse you for meals and lodging if your car breaks down more than 150 miles from home.
Is Genesis a legit luxury brand?
It’s easy to see how one might just consider Genesis vehicles as a band of Hyundais wearing fancy clothes. This is especially true when considering that Genesis used to be a Hyundai model and not its own brand. However, critics generally love the Genesis lineup. Car and Driver consistently gives the company’s offerings high rankings and undoubtedly considers them a legit luxury contender.
So, if you’re in the market for a new luxury car, you might consider turning your attention to a Genesis model. Additionally, if you aren’t quite within the budget of buying something like a new BMW 7 Series, the Genesis G80 or G90 sedan may offer all the luxurious benefits you desire for a fraction of the cost.
Best of all, if you plan to keep your vehicle for a long time, buying a Genesis is effectively a no-brainer. What could be more relaxing in a luxury vehicle than knowing you’re covered for an entire decade of cruising in style?
