Not all SUVs are created equal, especially when it comes to safe luxury vehicles. These are some luxury SUVs with the best safety packages, some of which are just the base trim. Keep in mind these Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) might be called something different from one brand to another. Many times the purpose of the system can be inferred by the name.

Buyers of the 2022 Audi e-tron/e-tron Sportback know this luxury SUV has much to offer. Forward collision warning (FCW), automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane-keeping assist (LKA), and blind-spot monitoring (BSM) are included in the Audi safety package. Rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA) and parking assist are other features. The Convenience Plus Package with adaptive cruise control (ACC) adds steering assist and a surround-view camera for $3,500. If you want rear-seat side-impact airbags, that’s another $400. Still not a bad deal for a luxury SUV with the best safety packages.

It can be confusing to know what safety systems are called across all of the brands, but this might be standardized in the future. For now, you can always look at the automaker’s website for more information. It will likely list the safety features included in the different trim levels of the luxury SUVs.
