The Hyundai Santa Fe has long been a popular SUV, and for good reason. It is relatively affordable, and the 2023 model comes with a long list of standard safety features. The 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe also offers two engine options. And that means you can find the right amount of power for your specific needs. So, which engine should you get in the new Hyundai Santa Fe?

This Santa Fe engine might be best

In terms of power output and performance, there is a clear winner for the best Santa Fe engine. The 2.5-liter turbocharged engine makes 281 horsepower and 311 pound-foot of torque. And for a vehicle of this size, that is a solid amount of power.

In order to get this engine, you need to opt for either the Limited trim or the Calligraphy trim. And that will add to the cost of this SUV. The base engine is the same 2.5-liter engine, but without the turbocharger. It produces 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque.

Unfortunately, the base engine does feel a little lackluster. But, it can come outfitted with all-wheel drive. And that will be ideal for those who live in winter climates or just want the benefits of AWD.

Is the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe a good SUV?

According to Kelley Blue Book, the new Santa Fe is a fairly decent vehicle. It has a spacious interior and has a starting price of under $30,000. Because of this, it should be accessible to more buyers. It offers two rows of seating, which is great for those who might want a three-row SUV.

The base engine is good enough, but it does seem like making the splurge for the turbocharged option might be worth it. In order to get that, you can opt for the Hyundai Santa Fe Limited that starts at $40,050.

How is the interior of the Santa Fe?

When it comes to interior quality, the biggest perk of the Santa Fe is space. It offers up to 72.1 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seat folded. Plus, there is 41.7 cubic feet of rear legroom. The base models come with cloth upholstery. But, things do get much nicer than that.

Once you begin to explore the higher trim levels, you will find things like Nappa leather upholstery. There are even convenience features like a head-up display and ambient lighting. Better yet, the 2023 Santa Fe will offer a variety of safety tech. And that should add to driver and passenger confidence.

When will the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe be released?

The new Santa Fe should come out at some point later this year. Because the Santa Fe is fresh off of a redesign, it is unlikely that there will be any serious changes made.

But, if you want to buy a new SUV, the 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe might be worth waiting for. Especially if you opt for one with the turbocharged engine.
