Massive Options Are Missing From the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Lineup
We have good news and bad news about the new Toyota Tacoma. The good news is that the build and price configurator is live! You can gleefully spec out your dream truck and Tacoma models are on their way to dealerships. However, one 2024 Toyota Tacoma option is missing.
Where is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro or Trailhunter?
If you look at the 2024 Toyota Tacoma build and price configurator you’ll find six trims available. You can compare the SR, SR5, TRP PreRunner, TRP Sport, TRD Off-Road, and Limited models.
You can select your preferred powertrain, cab size, and bed length based on which options are available with each trim. Then, you can move on to colors, packages, and accessories to build out your truck for work, play, or luxury comfort.
It’s easy to build rigs that go beyond the $60,000 mark, but during that excitement, you may have missed that the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and Trailhunter aren’t included.
Apparently, you can’t currently preorder these models and it’s unclear when they will be available. The Toyota site says they will come soon. But with the current state of delays in the automotive industry, we wouldn’t be surprised if these models get pushed until 2025.
The pricing for the top two trims hasn’t been released yet. But they are already the most sought-after models with the most demand.
How long is the wait for a 2024 Tacoma?
The wait for a 2024 Toyota Tacoma could be as little as two to three months. Production of the gas-powered models already started. But if you want the hybrid engine be prepared to wait longer.
Production of the Tacoma Hybrid is slated to begin in April. That’s if everything stays on track. So, we know that the hybrid models will be harder to get. This isn’t surprising as the Tundra Hybrid also had longer wait times.
Based on rumors found around forums, the wait for a Tacoma TRD Pro or Trailhunter could be up to two years. This would make them 2025 models and could be due to production capacity and demand.
Other rumors suggest that only 165,000 models will be built during the first year as production ramps up. But over 237,323 models were sold in 2022, so that’s a huge cut.
