The newest entrant to the legendary lineup of McLaren supercars, the 750S, is just around the corner. For its North American debut, McLaren is teaming up with the Sun Valley Tour de Force to show exactly what the new McLaren mid-engine masterpiece is capable of.

According to McLaren, the 750S is the most powerful production-series model the company has ever produced. The screaming twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 petrol engine now produces 740bhp and 590 pound-feet of torque. From a standstill, the 750S sprints from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds. That’s extremely impressive, but its North American debut will be putting far more than its acceleration to the test.

How fast is the McLaren 750S?

That’s the question, isn’t it? The Sun Valley Tour de Force is an ultimate proving ground for supercars and their drivers. In the top-speed event, a portion of a state highway in the scenic Idaho mountains is shut down, and drivers are given a standing-start mile to see just how fast they can get their cars to go.

Last year, McLaren brought out Engineering Explained’s Jason Fenske, who sat down with MotorBiscuit for an interview about the experience. While Jason put his foot to the floor with no fear and achieved a top speed of well over 200 miles per hour, McLaren opted to put the new 750S in professional racing hands for the 2023 debut.

Retired F1 driver Stefan Johansson will pilot the new 750S for the 2023 Sun Valley Tour de Force’s No Speed Limit event to really show us what it’s capable of! Better still is the fact that MotorBiscuit will be on-site to bring the action to you!

So, while we’ll have to wait to see just how fast the 750S will go, we can dig into the specs of the car a bit to give you a good idea of just how potent this new McLaren is.

How much horsepower does the 750S have?

As stated above, the 2024 McLaren 750S has 740 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. It can sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in under three seconds and can reach an eye-watering speed of 186 miles per hour in under 20 seconds from a standstill. According to McLaren, it will continue on to a top speed of 206 miles per hour.
