Meguiar’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner Review: Ready for Winter 2021
Here in Colorado, winter can be hell on your car’s interior. Thankfully, the helpful folks at Meguiar’s sent me the Meguiar’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner to help me detail my car and get it ready for winter 2021. After all, if you’re not starting with a clean car going into winter, you can bet it’ll get dirty a lot faster.
Meguiar’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner kills it
With winter 2021 fast approaching, I reflected on last winter and realized just how gross my car had gotten over Colorado’s snowiest months. Unfortunately, the salt had eaten into and ruined much of my car’s carpet and floor mats. Thankfully, I bought a new car over the summer and would have a fresh start headed into winter 2021. Of course, that means I actually had to put in the legwork as far as cleaning goes.
Fortunately, Meguiar’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner is pretty light on the work. I mean, you literally just spray the stuff onto whatever you want to clean. Then, you let it sit for “15-30 seconds”, per Meguiar’s, agitate it with the brush, and blot it dry. That’s it, and me telling you how to use the stuff took one whole sentence.
Meguiar’s cleaner is easy to use; with some faults
Ease of use with detailing products is a big deal. Not everyone can be Larry Kosilla, out there detailing cars for the love of the game. I’m certainly not a pro detailer, but the Meguiar’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner does leave a few small things to be desired. Even then, they’re more usage recommendations than anything.
First, you’ll definitely want some kind of better applicator if you’ll be cleaning your whole car. The provided plastic pad is a nice thought, but it’s really for those who forgot to get a proper brush. Mreover, it won’t stay on the can when you scrub. Regardless, these are minor complaints of mine that don’t detract from the product as a whole.
What are the best Meguiar’s products?
With winter 2021 looming, I’m happy to report my floor mats and carpets are cleaner than ever, as you can see in the images above. The dust you saw in the first image is completely gone, as are some darker stains my Nikon just wouldn’t pick up. Short of fully shampooing your car, this is the best, most effective, and fastest way to get your carpets clean. Just make sure to vacuum first and you’re good to go. Plus, at under $15 bucks a bottle, you can’t go wrong.
