The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is one of the more highly anticipated launches from the luxury brand this year. The brand’s new electric flagship sedan starts at over $100,000, but you might find it worth every penny. What sort of features does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS offer buyers? Plenty of customizable options for driver and passenger.

How much is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS?

Mercedes just released the pricing for the EQS, and while the price seems high at first, it offers a lot for luxury buyers. The press release from Mercedes-Benz calls the trim offerings “highly- equipped, strategically curated.” Mercedes calls the three trim options Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle.

The Premium trim for the 2022 EQS 450+ sedan starts at $102,310 and the EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan starts at $119,110. Some of the highlighted features include a driver assistance package, 20-inch wheels, and 10-degree rear-axle steering. It also offers a parking package with a surround-view system.

For the Exclusive trim, the EQS 450+ sedan starts at $105,710. The EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan starts at $122,510. This one gets multi-contour front seats with a massaging function, plus a Head-Up Display. The EQS cabin gets four-zone climate control and rapid heating seating in the front. The Exclusive trim also has the new Air Balance Package.

The top trim is called the Pinnacle. The Pinnacle trim for the EQS 450+ sedan will cost $108,510. As far as the EQS 580 4MATIC Sedan, that bumps up to $125,310. The EQS 580 4MATIC Pinnacle will get power seats with memory and comfort center armrests with wireless charging in the rear. In addition, the rear seats will be heated, ventilated and will offer additional USB-C ports.

The Mercedes-Benz EQS comes with some added benefits from Electrify America

The Mercedes-Benz EQS also has some other benefits. Buyers will get complimentary maintenance and free DC-Fast Charging from Electrify America for two years. The newest Mercedes sedan will get a 12.8-inch touchscreen, plus the MBUX Hyperscreen. The hyperscreen stitches three displays together under one 56-inch curved surface.

Through the Mercedes me profile, drivers can transfer individual settings from one user to the next. The EQS can store seven different profiles with 800 possible settings. The new EQ navigation system offers Electric Intelligence. With this, the navigation seamlessly updates routes to avoid traffic and closed routes. Plus, the navigation will populate charging stations and the associated information. No matter who is driving the 2022 EQS, the whole car will be customized to suit any needs.

Plus, Mercedes is testing out the idea of “renting” features, such as rear-wheel steering. It isn’t clear if that will be successful yet, but it is an interesting way of offering more features to buyers.

The new EQS is still cheaper than the S-Class

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the pinnacle of luxury sedans (no pun intended). However, most trim levels for the EQS still come in under the price of the S-Class. The S-Class comes in around $111,000, comparable to all of the EQS 450+ Sedan prices.

People have pitted the 2022 EQS against the Tesla Model S a lot. Tesla has the Model S starting at $89,990 for the Long Range and $124,990 for the Plaid. Not bad company for the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS to be in. Keep an eye out for the new EQS as it hits dealerships later this fall.
