It isn’t often we find a classic car collection like this. This low-mileage car collection has graced Lloyd Craig’s farm for the past 25 years, where he and his family have taken wonderful care of it. Vintage collectables like a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible and a beautiful, unrestored 1970 Dodge Superbee are only a couple of the classic cars heading for auction at Mecum’s in January of 2022.

What gems are hidden in this marvellous vintage car collection?

Lloyd Craig started by collecting road art and quickly moved into adding classic muscle cars to the mix. Soon after the muscle cars began hitting the farm collection his son Corey and son-in-law Ted joined in the fun. The focus wasn’t just any old muscle car, Craig wanted nothing but low-mileage, original examples of the car cars he and his family loved.

Although Ted and Corey helped source the classic muscle cars, they were more interested in vintage pickup trucks. According to The Drive, the first car Corey added to the mix was an old Dodge Dually. Soon after, the car-buying team shifted their focus to buying low-mileage, one-owner vintage trucks.

The family quickly got a reputation for their taste in clean, low-mileage pickup trucks. The trucks began coming to them because everyone knew they were taking great care of the horde.

How much is this classic car and truck collection worth?

The Craig family is offering the lovely collection with no reserve. This is an exciting situation given the quality and beauty of every car in the collection. Although the collection is only 15 cars, the quality of each car is superb.

One of the coolest of the bunch is the aforementioned 1970 Dodge Superbee in Plumb Crazy Purple with only 21,058 miles. This 383 V8-powered classic muscle car is just the way you want it; clean, original, and fantastic to look at.

Others heading for the auction block are a rad 1953 Willys Jeep pickup with only 26,261 miles. Every part of this truck has that “thing” that makes you stop and stare at every line, crease, nut, and bolt. It is a wonderful thing to behold and it could be yours.

The last of the hot ticket items is the 1957 Chevy Bel-Air Convertible finished in its original Harbor blue with matching wheels and interior. This drop-top cruiser got a frame-off restoration in 2011 and it shows. What a beauty.

This collection is hard to top

Many car collections get their fame due to volume. This is not one of those collections. Again, there are only 15 cars/trucks being sold here but the quality is nearly unmatched. Sources say that some of the pickup trucks have fewer than 100 original miles and still sit on factory tires.

It would seem that the Craig family was way ahead of the ball on the low mileage tip. Lately, we have seen multiple mundane cars, trucks, and SUVs from the ‘80s and ‘90s sell for extraordinary amounts of money simply because they have no miles on them. What then will earlier, cooler cars and trucks like these do at auction? It is truly hard to gauge just how much this collection will sell for. Frankly, the sky is the limit. Lloyd and his family understand this which is why they have left the auction without a reserve.
