The Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler are two of the most versatile vehicles currently on sale. Despite basically being just an SUV and a pickup truck, these Jeeps can conquer almost any terrain. One of the biggest draws of both is the ability to remove their doors and roof easily. However, one major drawback has always been that the mirrors themselves are attached to the doors. The result is that while you can go doorless, you lost the safety of having mirrors, making it difficult to maneuver on the road. To fix this, Mopar introduced a new set of doors-off mirrors so you can ride doorless and still see where you’ve been.

The mirrors use the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler’s standard hardware

These new Mopar door-less mirrors are extremely simple. For starters, you take the doors off of your Jeep Gladiator or Wrangler as normal. According to Mopar, buyers can attach the mirrors by using the T40 bit wrench already included in their vehicles. The mirrors themselves attach to both the upper door hinge and the door flange. The brackets are covered in an anti-corrosive coating and should withstand the elements. Given the ease with which all of the other components can be removed, attaching the mirrors should be a breeze.

Since Mopar knows you’ll most likely knock the mirrors into something eventually, they include a built-in breakaway feature. According to Mopar, the mirrors are also specially designed, so they do not cause excessive vibrations as the wind blows over them. From the pictures, they seem very similar to the standard mirrors, meaning wind noise should not be an issue.

Why would I get my mirrors from Mopar?

Doorless mirrors are by no means new to either the Jeep Gladiator or the Wrangler. Aftermarket companies have produced similar mirrors for years. However, Mopar claims that their mirrors’ added benefit is that they are designed and tested to Jeep’s manufacturing standards. Because Mopar backs them, they do not interfere with your vehicle’s warranty in any way.

Additionally, most of Mopar’s parts offer their own warranty giving buyers further peace of mind. To order the mirrors, you can either contact your local Jeep dealer or purchase them directly from Mopar. The pair will set you back $295.

What else does Mopar offer for the Jeeps?

According to Mopar, they offer over 500 parts for both the Jeep Gladiator and the Wrangler. A set of Mopar steel-tubed doors offer greater protection and a mid-point between doors on and off. The pair costs $1,195, and like the mirrors, feature an anti-corrosive material. If the standard ride height isn’t quite tall enough, a two-inch lift system is available for $1,495. If you’re lifting your Jeep, you’ll most likely want new wheels and tires. Mopar has thought of that and, as a result, offers a set of off-roading wheels for $1,140, although you’ll have to pay extra for the tires.

If you’re a fan of lights, you’re in luck. Mopar offers lights to mount both on the front bumper and the front fenders. The bumper-mounted lights cost $725, while the smaller fender-mounted lights cost $475. PickupTrucks recently tested a Jeep Gladiator optioned with more than $10,000 in optional extras from Mopar. So the only limitations you’ll face when customizing your Jeep are those imposed by your wallet.
