There’s really no denying that the Honda Ridgeline has never been the most popular pickup truck. When it was first introduced, it marked one of the first unibody trucks. And for the 2023 Ridgeline model, there’s one key feature that sets it apart from other pickups.

What makes the 2023 Honda Ridgeline unique?

The Ridgeline pickup truck offers an optional in-bed audio system. This feature turns the Ridgeline’s bed into one giant speaker, and that’s a pretty cool party truck. If you are camping with your mid-size truck or are at a tailgate, you can make your pickup the life of the party.

The in-bed audio system comes standard with the 540-watt premium audio system, which can be had on the RTL-E and Black Edition models. If you’re worried about battery life, you can use it with the ignition switched off. The system turns the side walls of the bed and the front of the box into speakers. It does so by vibrating them with specialized speaker drivers.

Does the Honda Ridgeline have speakers in the bed?

Depending on the trim and options, you can get speakers in your 2023 Honda Ridgeline’s bed. And although doing so might be pricey, it could be worth it to some shoppers. Especially when you consider just how many things you can use this feature for.

You can listen to music outside of your mid-size truck, or you can host your very own drive-in movie. And the Ridgeline really lends itself to doing those kinds of things.

How much does the 2023 Honda Ridgeline cost?

According to Car and Driver, the 2023 Ridgeline has a starting cost of $38,800. This does make it more expensive than other mid-size pickups, but it does offer a range of standard features. Each Ridgeline comes outfitted with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 280 horsepower. And you get a dual-action tailgate.

Another nice thing about Honda’s truck is the fact that it comes standard with all-wheel drive. So, instead of paying extra for power going to all four wheels, you get it no matter which Ridgeline you purchase. Another cool feature of this mid-size truck is its in-bed trunk. This makes the Ridgeline more versatile, even it is not as capable as something like the Toyota Tacoma.

Is the Ridgeline getting redesigned?

For 2023, the Honda Ridgeline remains largely unchanged. But the all-new Honda Pilot was just revealed, so we expect that a new generation of Ridgeline is on its way. The Ridgeline shares the same platform as Honda’s SUV, so it makes sense that both would be updated around the same time.

Something that would be cool for Honda to do would be to introduce a hybrid truck. Honda does have the technology to make a hybrid truck. And the Ford Maverick Hybrid has proved itself to be extremely popular. Maybe a hybrid powertrain could breathe new life into Honda’s pickup truck. Until then, the Ridgeline struggles to keep up with the other mid-size trucks on today’s market.
