The Most Affordable and High-Value SUVs Revealed by Cars.com Affordability Report
Looking for a new SUV that won’t break the bank? Cars.com Affordability Report for 2023 has the most affordable and high-value SUVs on the market this year. Small sport utility vehicles like these from Chevrolet, Kia, and Hyundai have even replaced sedans as some of the cheapest options on the market.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer LS is an affordable and high-value SUV
For those unfamiliar with the Cars.com Affordability Report but looking for an affordable and high-value SUV, the 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS checked all the boxes. Cars.com looks at brand-new vehicles that offer more bang for your buck in one way or another, and the Trailblazer came first. Starting at $23,890, the Trailblazer gets 30 mpg combined and has an estimated annual fuel cost of only $1,700. The Trailblazer gets 29 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway.
Chevy has a decent warranty on the Trailblazer LS with three years or 36,000 miles for bumper-to-bumper; five years or 60,000 miles for the powertrain. If possible, add the Driver Confidence Package for more safety features. Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Lane Departure Warning are a few of the systems.
Hyundai’s Kona SE is a high-value SUV for 2023
Cars.com did not add anything additional to the 2023 Hyundai Kona SE. Starting at $23,285, the Kona gets 32 mpg combined for fuel economy (30 mpg city, 35 mpg highway). It comes equipped with front-wheel drive and has room for five passengers. The estimated fuel cost for the year is only $1,450, adding to the value of the SUV. Hyundai has a pretty good warranty, too, with five years or 60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper; 10 years/100,000 miles powertrain.
All-wheel drive is optional, and thanks to the Kona’s car-like size, this SUV is easy to park in the city. Hyundai also included plenty of features like Automatic emergency braking, Rear cross-traffic alert, Wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. If that isn’t enough, more systems are available, but the Kona SE is an affordable and high-value SUV for 2023.
Don’t overlook everything the Kia Seltos S has to offer
There is plenty to report for those considering the $24,485 2023 Kia Seltos S. This affordable and high-value SUV gets 31 mpg combined (29 mpg in the city/35 mpg on the highway) and only has an annual fuel cost of around $1,650. With room for five passengers and all-wheel drive standard, it is easy to see why the Seltos might be worth considering.
On top of that, the cargo area on the Seltos is surprisingly large. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard, along with Automatic emergency braking and Driver attention monitor. Kia also added Keyless entry and Bluetooth. On top of that, Kia’s Five years/60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper and 10 years/100,000 miles powertrain warranty is industry leading.
For more affordable and high-value SUVs, the 2023 Volkswagen Taos S and the 2023 Mazda CX-30 S Select also made the cut. All of these options still come in under $30,000 and have enough features to suit most potential owner’s needs.
