Upgrading to the Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat paint color is $995, and we added Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission for $1,995. The Mid Package (222A) starts at $1,645 and adds two-door intelligent access with lock/unlock, dual-zone climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The trailer tow package, for $500, adds some additional towing materials, and we went with the retractable full-twill soft top for $2,600. Ford offers many different top options, so this can vary a lot. Sure, you can order a Heritage Edition and be on your way, but there will be many of those on the roads just like yours.
Are we crazy to think the 2024 Bronco is kind of affordable?
A Ford Performance heavy-duty front bumper adds $975 to the 2024 Ford Bronco; body armor, fender flares, and tubes for all four doors add another $1,810. Ford offers an alarming number of random kits like a first aid kit, a cargo net kit, storage bags, and a cargo area rug for additional fees. Finally, we upgraded the headlights to LEDs with the signature Bronco lighting for $795. The $100 wheel lock kit was a necessity, too.
With the 2024 Bronco Raptor starting at $89,835, a fully loaded base model Bronco for $60,000 is actually pretty good. It isn’t an entry-level SUV by any means, but most models come close to $60k these days. We appreciate that Ford offers so many ways to customize the new Bronco, even if it does have a higher starting price this year.
If this is still out of budget, we view the Jeep Wrangler and the Bronco Sport as worthy alternatives. Both of these SUVs still have the off-roading emphasis but a slightly lower cost, which might leave room for some upgrades.
