Full-size pickup trucks have come a long way from their workhorse origins toward becoming luxurious family vehicles in the modern era. Some of the priciest trucks now fetch beyond $100,000 when optioned to the max but include tech, safety, and comfort features only found in premium sedans.

To make purchasing an affluence-minded truck easier, TrueCar has put together its lineup of the most expensive pickup trucks for 2022.

2022 GMC Hummer EV

After a 12-year hiatus, the Hummer is back as an all-electric, 1,000-hp pickup truck from General Motors (GM). According to TrueCar, the company announced that price hikes will affect the range of trim packages for the Hummer EV—Edition 1, EV 3X, EV 2X, and EV 2—adding $6,250 to its already eye-watering MSRP. The base model now starts at $92,895, and the already sold-out Edition 1 is $118,545. Regardless, buyers will get an Apollo mission-inspired “super truck,” as GM calls it, sporting a list of credentials that justify the price to many.

With a 212 kWh battery pack, the GMC Hummer EV has a range of 329 miles but the lowest EPA rating of any EV with 47 MPGe, InsideEVs reports. However, the movie graphic-quality visuals on the digital gauge cluster and 13.4-inch infotainment stand out as the centerpiece of the modern, luxurious interior. Additionally, the Hummer EV will stun passersby with its innovative “crab walk” feature.

2022 Ford Super Duty F-450

Capable of towing 37,000 lbs while providing passengers a comfortable, deluxe interior, buyers of Ford’s most capable rig will fervently enjoy the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbodiesel delivering 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque through dual rear wheels. The base XL model starts at $57,420 before options, and the top-of-the-line Limited trim package has a $98,620 starting price tag.

Ford’s intelligent safety features like adaptive cruise control, collision warning, and 360-degree cameras are only offered standard on more expensive trim levels, as are features like power running boards, wireless charging, and a panoramic moonroof. Therefore, it will be easy to spec the Ford Super Duty F-450 pickup truck into the six-figure range.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

Although it doesn’t directly compete with the GMC Hummer EV, Ford’s all-new electric pickup truck is generating a buzz with its impressive features and immense capabilities, enough to make it a mainstream model in the full-size pickup truck segment. The Ford F-150 Lighting also starts at an attractive price of $41,769 in the Pro SuperCrew configuration while keeping most of the capabilities found in its gas-powered variant. Yet, buyers wanting the maximum capacities from Ford’s battery pack will have to opt for the higher-end Platinum SuperCrew model that starts at $92,669.

The base model features Ford’s Co-Pilot 360 2.0 driver-assist mode, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a slew of power outlets in the truck’s “frunk.” However, to get the preferable 320-range, you’ll have to choose the most expensive variant, but it provides an EPA-rated 70 MPGe combined according to the site Fuel Economy, an even competition with the next truck on the list.

2022 Rivian R1T

This newcomer to the full-size pickup truck segment seeks to compete with an electric offering only. The Rivian R1T boasts an upscale interior, an 11,000-lb towing capacity, and excellent off-road capability. However, the benefits do come with a price. Its base Explore Package fetches $68,575, and the more popular Launch Edition starts at $86,075, but it’s already sold out.

Those opting for the pricier model will have a 314-mile electric range and an EPA-rated 70 MPGe combined. The price will include Rivian’s Adventure Package featuring its glamorous, nature-inspired interior, which promotes functionality through its powered tonneau cover, Gear Guard remote monitoring system, and additional lockable storage.

2022 GMC Sierra 1500 

GMC’s half-ton pickup truck comes equipped with excellent on and off-road capability, a roomy cockpit, and an interior fit to please even the most elegant customers. The all-new GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate trim level adds open-pore wood and rich leather upholstery to the pickup truck but comes at a starting price of $83,695. Still, buyers can enjoy quality materials and ample tech features in the more popular SLT model, starting at $53,995.

There are numerous standard safety features throughout the lineup, and the new Super Cruise driver-assist technology is available on any Sierra with a Denali badge. To procure a better riding truck than the competitors, buyers must opt for more premium trim and performance packages. Still, those specific models can be fitted with GM’s 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine putting out a smooth 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque but a less than stellar, EPA-rated 18 mpg combined.
