Financial Samurai noted that it costs about $4,250 to maintain a Land Rover during the first five years of ownership. Then it costs another $15,000 during 10 years of ownership. The total cost comes to about $19,250.
So, on top of paying a premium for these luxury SUVs, drivers pay a lot of extra cheddar to keep it running.
Toyota SUVs cost about $1,125 to maintain for five years and about $3,775 to maintain over 10 years. The total cost is only $4,900.
But to be fair, the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover is showing signs of improvement. J.D.Power gave the 2024 model a reliability rating of 81 out of 100, which is above average.
Scores between 70 and 80 are below average, scores between 81 and 91 are above average, and anything between 91 and 100 is best. Plus, the scores are based on feedback from actual drivers.
The 2020 Range Rover model has a score of 74, so it has improved its rating by seven points. Mechanics warn that the biggest issues are related to the brakes, leaky windows, and suspension problems.
