1. How much does the F-150 Lightning cost? 

The standard-range 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning or the F-150 Lightning Pro starts at $39,974. Moving up to the top-spec Platinum trim increases the price to over $90,000. It includes the long-range battery pack. 

But say goodbye to those prices. The 2023 F-150 Lightning begins at around $46,974. The Platinum trim brings the price up to $96,874. It has a $1,795 destination fee and is still eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit. 

2. How much can the Ford Lightning tow? 

When properly equipped, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lighting Pro can tow up to 7,700 lbs and carry a payload of up to 2,235 lbs. It cranks out 452 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque with the standard range battery. 

If you opt for the long-range battery, the F-150 Lightning provides 580 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. It can tow up to 10,000 lbs and carry a payload of up to 2,000 lbs. The gas-powered F-150 can tow up to 14,000 lbs.

3. How long does it take to charge the electric F-150? 

If you charge the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning at home, with a standard 120-v household outlet, be prepared to wait. This is the slowest charging method and provides about two miles of charge per hour. It takes about 67 hours for a full charge this way. 

With a Level 2 charging station, it can take between six to 12 hours to fully recharge the battery pack. If you use a fast charging station, the standard-range battery can charge from 15 to 80 percent in about 36 minutes. 

The long-range pack can be charged from 15 to 80 percent in about 41 minutes. You can have a charging station installed at home. 

4. Does the F-150 Lightning have enough power to keep beer cold? 

While we don’t condone drinking and driving, the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning does an excellent job at keeping drinks cold. The frunk or front truck can be used as a cooler. It has rubber flooring with a plug at the bottom to drain water. 

Plus, the Pro Power Onboard Generator provides enough juice to power a construction site or camping site for up to three days. It can even power your home. Plugs are found in the truck, can, and frunk to power tools, lights, TVs, and more.
